Not much to do here. The poverty beyond the port was so intense that it saddened me. Not really a place to port in my opinion, although I'm sure they need the tourism income.

Disappointed in the airboat adventure. Spent a long drive there and back only to see birds from a distance pointed out that could really have been anything. No other wildlife.

The port was not well maintained. It was dirty and the water was murky and brown. We did not do an excursion and we did not leave the port area as we did not feel safe. We got back on the ship and enjoyed the empty pool!

Get away beach is beautiful. Lot of history here and must take a tour.

In Belize, we did a Xunantunich Mayan Ruins tour with lunch. The tour itself was amazing. We climbed the ruins and the view was absolutely breathtaking. At Xunantunich, you are only a few miles away from the Guatemalan border, so we could actually see Guatemala from the top. However, the bus ride was 2 hours each way, to and from the port. The tour guide on the bus was pretty boring, as she talked to almost the whole two hour ride to Xunantunich. Many people on the bus fell asleep. Lunch was decent. Chicken, rice and beans, and cole slaw were offered. Lunch was served after the tour of the ruins and was about a 15 min drive away.
