We did a trolley tour of the city. It was an eye opener for my son to see the street people asking for money. It is a poorer city; makes you appreciate USA. There is a marketplace downtown that has very good prices for souveniers. Again, streets are narrow and traffic terrible. Let someone else do the driving.

The El Cid golf course included a caddy which was a nice surprise. Club house offered nice lunch options.

We took the 4 hr bus tour. Saw a show of dancing people, it was ok.

Toured with Mazatlan Frank - a local tour guide (www.mazatlan-frank.com) This was excellent as we avoided the large buses and tourist traps. We did the City and Resort tour. Best shopping in the Golden Zone. Mazatlan is the best place to shop and negotiate.

Not pleased that at the end of Princess excursion taken to a jewelry store and hassled to buy while limited shopping available.

Do your shopping here. Got great service and the people seemed to genuinely enjoy having you there. The assistant manager at Diamonds Internattional was terrific.
