Nice, but I found it to be too commercialized.... At least the area that we saw... Now, having said that, my mother loved it here and said she'd like to return, that there was too much to see and too little time to do it properly.

We always enjoy seeing a new place, and the cliff divers are not to be missed, but overall found Acapulco to be quite dirty with many persistant beggars or locals guides who wanted to take you somewhere (anywhere).

We didn't go on a Shore excursion package, we hired a driver for 8.5 hours and he took us where we wanted to go. The town is beautiful, gorwing and bustling as expected. The resorts on the other side of the mountain make this a place where we would want to return to.

I had been to Mexico before and realized that it was economically depressed however I didn't realize how it would effect my kids. They were very saddened by the lack of things the people had in comparission to us. I would say that if you don't have money for a shore excursion, which can be expensive for a family of 4, then negociate a cab tour and save the walk of depression.

We hired a cab for the 4 hour city tour with the cliff diving. Jose took very good care of us. We never felt like we were in any danger, and he was very friendly and informative.
