We stayed 1 night post cruise. Venice is absolutely beautiful with its aesthetic architecture. I have mixed views about Venice. Although extremely beautiful and I enjoy wandering to explore new areas. This was actually my least favorite place due to the extremely over crowded hoards of people. As long as we stayed in the area of our hotel it wasn't so bad, but still very congested. We dealt with many rude people. A situation where one pushed one of my daughter's so that she would get out of their way. Another older woman created a scene and kept poking my daughter to move instead of walking around her, since she had luggage and not easily move then created a scene. I can handle crowds and new places, but when we encounter lack of respect on several situations in a very short time that is when I say this is not the place for us. We did have positive times spent and saw some amazing things, but as beautiful as Venice is we were happy to leave. I even took the loss for tickets for Doge's Palace. Even with skip the line the line for that was so ridiculously long and same for the bascilica.

We did this on our own - easy to get a water taxi into the town and gondolas are a fixed price so you don’t get ripped off. Lovely city - the sail away was particularly impressive.

Our ship, the Veendam, overnighted here in Venice so we were able to come back to sleep before disembarking the next day. We spent another night at the Olimpia Hotel in Venice and it was fantastic! The hotel is well located right at the end of the “People Mover” which brings you directly from the ship terminal right on a canal. We were told by our driver who took us to the airport, that the best way to meet Venice is to get lost in her. It is so true!!! For two days we wandered all over this beautiful city and discovered so many lovely spots to eat, drink and to listen to beautiful music while watching the gondoliers! (Tip: get away from St. Marks Square to get a better price on a gondola ride!) Enjoy getting lost In Venice!

The ship overnighted in Venice. The first day we did an excursion through Royal Caribbean that included the Doges Palace, a glass blowing demonstration and a walk through of St. Mark's Basilica. The next morning we did a gondola ride and shopping in Venice. We also rode to the top of the tower in St. Mark's Square. Great views of the city and the canals / islands from the top.

This was our debarkation Port. We added a 1 night hotel stay which gave us the whole day and evening to explore Venice. We took the Vaporato (equivelent to a city bus) to travel the Grand Canal. Venice was Amazing! We walked through the winding paths and streets and alleyways, we went to St Marks Square and visited the Cathedral. The city is Amazing!!!

Venice was amazing. A bit crowded, but beautiful. You have to try Gelato anywhere in Venice! YUMMY! The Gondola ride was overpriced for the time you got in it, but it was still cool. Make sure to visit St. Mark's Square. Simply gorgeous and the best Gelato was there. The little mom and pop restaurants were the best and very decently priced.

We loved Venice. The streets are canals or quaint cobbled stoned alleys. Lots of history, restaurants. Took a gondola ride to get close to some areas only available by boat.
