Plenty to see and do just not enough time? We got to port an hour late so even less time than advertised.

We stayed a day before the cruise and a day after, but it seems like it might work better to go straight to the cruise, and take 2 - 3 days in Venice afterwards. This was our third trip to Venice so we did not do any excursions, but we might have done some with a little more time. We were so "jet lagged" that we could not really get the most out of our first day in Venice getting there from the airport.

The most pretty place I went to on the cruise. The gondola is necessary. And relaxing while facing the water. Taking a walk around, eating a gelato. And visiting St. Mark's Square and going into the Church. I myself was interested because the Venetians stole St. Mark's body from Egypt, my homeland. But it nice to learn the history.

Location you need to experience once, even at high tide, I recommend a pair of Wellington boots, variations are available for purchase on the streets

Venice is always a good idea. I know this phrase is supposed to be for Paris but Venice is always beautiful and wonderful even during November and Acqua Alta.

Don't do a gondola ride. They will cram 8 people onto the gondola and if you aren't first on you won't get the prime back seat. Overall it was our least favorite part of Venice.

Impressionnant!! Un si gros navire 🚢 dans les canaux de Venise 🎭 . A voir ! Transports en commun très efficace. Et déguster une gélato tous en marchant le long du grand canal et le pont Rialto

Venice is easy to see on your own. It is nice to take an excursion though to hear a little about what you are seeing. Ate in an outdoor cafe near the Rialta which is cheaper than Saint Marks area. Give the food a 5, the atmosphere a 10.

Venice can only be experienced by being there. Picture do not do it justice. We spent one day just wlking the city and crossing those fabuous bridge. Go to St. Mark's square to see it but then walk further into the city to shop. The prices and selections are much better. They have some wonderful handmade paper shops and leather journals.
