Review summary

We seen so many wonderful things on this cruise that we would have probably never gotten to see otherwise!

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Our cruise actually embarked in Brindisi but is the same itinerary from Venice just a day later. Embarkation from Brindisi was not an option in Shipmate? Ship was 3 hours late getting to Brindisi due to not getting to leave from Venice on time the day before. This made for a very long wait in a very small terminal!!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We were a group of 10 and we all found the food to be very enjoyable as a whole! Always going to have those hit or miss selections but good as a whole. Had the soup every night and every soup we had was delicious!!! We were an American group and will let you know the eggs and bacon were always very under cooked to what I am used to in the states? Our waiters in the main dining room were awesome!!!!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We were in a different port each day and done excursions so my wife and I didn’t do any onboard activities except the evening shows.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were enjoyable but not great? The American stationed MSC ships have much better shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward Willy was an absolute joy to see each day and he done a fantastic job with our room. As I mentioned earlier our dining room waiters were awesome!!! We had nothing but positive interaction with staff!! My only negative takeaway is that the cruise director seemed to be the least engaged and involved cruise director I have ever seen in my 14-15 cruises? The only time we seen him was when he introduced the nightly theater show??

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was built in 2006 but is still very nice and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was smaller than other MSC ships we’ve been on but it was adequate and Willy kept it looking good!!

Ship tip

Although we had some challenges embarking and disembarking in Brindisi I still think it would have been better than Venice as things looked really chaotic there?

Ports of call

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Absolutely beautiful!!!! Way to many people but beautiful!!!

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

4 out of 5
We loved going to the acropolis and seeing the Parthenon and the view but the traffic is terrible and graffiti is everywhere?!?!

Sarande, Albania

2 out of 5
Not impressed with this port. I would stay on the ship here in the future.

Brindisi, Italy

4 out of 5
Beautiful town!! We embarked here so no excursion but enjoyed our nights stay here before the cruise!!

Katakolon (Olympia), Greece

4 out of 5
Not extremely impressive but just getting to see where the olympics started!! Wow!!

Venice, Italy

4 out of 5
Plenty to see and do just not enough time? We got to port an hour late so even less time than advertised.

Mykonos, Greece

4 out of 5
Very nice little town to see and walk!

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Again we embarked and disembarked in Brindisi. We were to be out of our rooms at 1000 and didn’t disembark until 230 so that makes for a long wait? Also you are bused from the pier where the ship docks back to the terminal which is 2-3 miles away and the bus delivers you to a parking lot where “most” people apparently parked but being from America we had flight and train arrangements made and was told by the driver that was his only stop?? We had to walk 3/4 mile to get to a point of hailing a taxi?? Not very good for-thought and planning?
