Book your tickets for the cable car online in advance - the "already booked" queue was shorter and you don't have much time there anyway!

What can you say about Gib? It's Gibraltar and we even saw 2 Bobbies on the beat in old British Police uniforms.....helmets and all........which is 2 more than we see in our local town!!! Despite it being a Sunday many shops were open including Debenhams and Marks and Sparks and there were bargains to have.

Absolutely amazing ! We did an excursion and went to see the monkeys, St Michael’s cave (I think that’s what it was called) and the village town. We had a private driver and she was amazing, we experienced the best ! We got to hold monkeys too which was an experience I’ll never forget !

I only wish we had more time in this port. The excursion to the top of the rock was great, but we only had about 20 minutes to wander at the top, and I would've liked at least twice that.

We had been here before so didn't do an excursion but for first timers the cable car ride up to the top is a must but beware of the Barbary apes. Don't take any shopping bags with as the grab it from you the minute you set foot out of the cable car. The locals told us that tourists often end up getting bitten because they aren't aware that they should be cautious around them.

The day we were visited Gib was experiencing a power cut so we were unable to take the cable car. I would recommend organised tours as it is not easy to visit the sights on foot as its a long walk from the ship and only a short stay as Gib is actually a refuelling station.
