So much to see in Rome. You need more than a day.

Took the river cruise and walking tour. Very little river and lots of walking some of the site were unavailable because the Rome marathon was on the Sunday we were there. If you have any mobility issues this not the tour for you lots of walking.

We went round trip from this port and spent a couple of extra days here. Buy an Omni pass and skip the lines.

I took the tour of Rome and the Vatican. It was a full day. If I did this again, I would focus on the Vatican. We ran through the museum and Sistine Chapel due to time constraints that I did not feel I could fully appreciate or enjoy the sites.

Two transportation modes to get to the ship. Reduce one and you will have a winning formula

Same as above about port No excursions Probably should have. Wasted to much time trying to get to Trevi fountain on our own.

First time here as well so we spent three nights in a nice hotel and toured the usual city spots via a three day hop-on, hop-off pass. Travel agent hint: just ride the HoHo a couple of loops first to get oriented and site-see and THEN start visiting the sites. We did the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and a Skip-the-Line tour of the Vatican among other things during our three days and nights in Rome. Not sure if we "...did as the Romans do...", but I am pretty sure we did what Newfoundlanders in Rome do ;^)

The port of Rome was well equipped but the city is filthy and broken down. The traffic is horrific and again a disappointing excursion that we paid extra for (Angels and Demons Tour). We had friends that did the Vatican Behind the Scenes (Pope's Apt) tour and they felt even more cheated. The Vatican just takes everyones money and rushes them through huge crowds no matter what you pay. No sense of history or spirituality here.

We wasted too much time at the People Square figuring our way around. Guide should have taken us directly to the main sites there. Maps were very poor. Time was not managed well and wished we would at least stopped at the Colosseum to take pictures. Would be willing to skip lunch to see more. Traffic and crowds were really bad too.
