Due to lack of specific daily information, conflicts continually occurred for us as we didn't know other activities were ongoing.

Ports of call

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5
Loved this city, just not enough time. Takes about 20-30 minutes from the port to the city center and waterbuses from Murano didn't run as often as they originally said. Gondola was fun, but St Mark's Cathedral and Square was great. Also having dinner on the Grand Canal at a sidewalk cafe was wonderful.
Don't Miss: Cafes on the Grand Canal, gondola ride and St. Mark's Cathedral and Square

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

3 out of 5
We wasted too much time at the People Square figuring our way around. Guide should have taken us directly to the main sites there. Maps were very poor. Time was not managed well and wished we would at least stopped at the Colosseum to take pictures. Would be willing to skip lunch to see more. Traffic and crowds were really bad too.
Don't Miss: The Vatican& Sistine Chapel, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain

Marseille (Provence), France

3 out of 5
Other than Notre Dame this is a port that can be skipped. French people were rude except for those working in the candy store.
Don't Miss: Notre Dame Basilica

Messina, Sicily

Messina is also a dirty city. Go to Taormina and the Greek Theatre. Small streets and shops with history along with the theatre.
Don't Miss: Taormina and the Greek Theatre

Savona (Genoa), Italy

5 out of 5
Sign up NOW for the Santa Margherita, Portofino & Camogli excursion. It was the best excursion and sold out immediately for those trying to sign on after boarding the ship. These small villages/cities are as beautiful as any post card. Didn't see Savona but didn't miss it. Great little buys as well.
Don't Miss: Must see Portofino, Santa Margherita, and Camogli. Real Italy!

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

1 out of 5
Skip the Monastery tour unless you like Chopin history. Would have liked to see more of Valldemossa and Soller. Felt we were just driven through in order to catch the train ride which was OK but nothing exciting. We could have skipped this port and spent another day in Venice or Rome.
Don't Miss: Can't really say there was anything that really struck me as a "must see".

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Skip Naples as we did. Dirty city. Go to Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri. Wonderful excursion and sites
Don't Miss: Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri

Pros: The spacious mini-suite

Cons: Lack of up-to-date information on daily onboard activities, ports and excursions.
