Everything onboard the ship was EXQUISITE! Unfortunately we felt so cheated by the poor tours that Regent had arranged. The tour guides were either disorganized or unable to communicate and we just left feeling shortchanged.
We've been on other cruises where the cruise ship company had arranged really enriching and wonderful excursions. Sadly this is the only area Regent fell short.
But the experience on board did exceed all of our expectations.

Truly wonderful. Our butler greeted us at reception and escorted us to our suite. We were received with champagne and wonderful people. We would only recommend that for people who paid top dollar for the best suite, they provide a special early entrance. It was difficult standing in line with a mob of hundreds of people for half an hour before embarking.

All the food and drink were exquisite. And prices for upgraded wines are very reasonable. Great staff in the restaurants as well.

Loved the spa treatments and the activities at night. Nicola, our Social Director, was incredible.

The performers were wonderful but the shows are a bit dated. The talent is extremely good but we felt like we were watching the Lawrence Welk show for some of the shows.

The butler (Shameer) is incredible. Highly focused on service without being intrusive. Loved every employee we met onboard.
Ship Quality

Well designed ship and facilities that were very clean and well kept.
The port of Rome was well equipped but the city is filthy and broken down. The traffic is horrific and again a disappointing excursion that we paid extra for (Angels and Demons Tour). We had friends that did the Vatican Behind the Scenes (Pope's Apt) tour and they felt even more cheated. The Vatican just takes everyones money and rushes them through huge crowds no matter what you pay. No sense of history or spirituality here.
Mallorca was beautiful but we had the absolute worst tour guide who barely spoke English (we paid extra for this one as well). We went on the Flamenco show tour and enjoyed the Flamenco extensively but felt the guide was just awful. People were shouting at her to shut up, that's how bad it was.
