Poor timing: Day 1 we were in port after the shops closed, leaving only restaurants and bars to visit. Day 2 we were too far from St. George to both take the infrequent ferry from our dock to be able to get back to the ship before it left Bermuda. Terrible planning cut short our tour of this island.

I am a beach person so,I took a cab which cost @ $70.00 round trip to Horshoe Beach which is the most beautiful beach in Bermuda. They have rental chairs and umbrellas for $15.00 but you get $5.00 back when you return them at the end of the day. I've been to Bermuda before and docked at St.George's, this beach is the best. Tobacco Bay is ok too though. Snorkel park is ok if the majority of your party are smaller children and you don't mind spending $10.00 a person to get in, as it is in walking distance. We also went snorkeling at Horshoe Bay and at Church Bay which has a rough turf and is not good for children or anyone with health problems because there are 3 long sets of stairs to go down. However the fish there were many and plentiful. Also if you go to Church Bay make arrangements with your taxi driver to come back and pick you up as taxi's do not make this place a routine stop.

I recommend hiring a taxi as we did as they can show you the different sites that a guided tour might not. The driver we had was excellent. He took us to three or four of the different beaches, showed us some of the local culture and being raised on the Island he showed us some of his favorites spots growing up and gave us a little history behind each one.

We missed the first day here due to hurricane Dorian and had to shelter a day in Portland. Bermuda is a nice beach stop. Be sure to visit the glass blowers at the wharf

I was disappointed in Horseshoe bay. Last I visited it was wonderful however, there were way too many people this time, so crowed, they doubled the cost to rent chairs and umbrella. Drinks at bar were very expensive. For a three hour trip it was costly.
