Ship: Serenade of the Seas

Cabin type: Balcony

Review summary

A nice interlude between our New England road trip and our Canadian snowbird cruise, Bermuda was an easy no hassle cruise. The Serenade is a beautiful ship and the staff outstanding.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze with electronic tickets. Walked straight on to the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dining room food was varied and delicious. The beef as tender as any in fine steak houses on land. Portion sizes were sensible for once.

Concierge Lounge

5 out of 5

The lounge is spacious and airy with an outdoor seating area. The staff was great. It is a nice escape during the day. In the evenings happy hour with free cocktails and great nibble art provided. Darren the bartender remembers individual preferences and Junior the Concierge is most helpful. Thankfully there were few Status cruisers so during happy hour seating was no problem.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The fitness center has a great variety of equipment. If only I would use it.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Singers and dancers were great! The band even better.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room is small by hotel standards but good size by cruise ship. Shower only no tub. Plenty of storage space and luggage fits easily under the bed

Ship tip

Don't bother with the specialty dining. The dining room is great

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
This was embarkation day, which was an easy task.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
We missed the first day here due to hurricane Dorian and had to shelter a day in Portland. Bermuda is a nice beach stop. Be sure to visit the glass blowers at the wharf

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was a breeze. The cue of taxis and busses manageable chaos
