Ketchikan was also great. Took a tour arranged by Hilton, not HAL, to rainforest, salmon hatchery, raptor center and strongly recommend it. We were even lucky enough to have a black bear wander out of the forest down to the river looking for early salmon. The Raptor viewing area you are so close you feel you can almost reach out and touch the birds. Up Close, the bald eagle is truly magnificent.

Beautiful town! Maybe even our favorite it had so much character and charm. We did the Lumberjack show, Creek Street, and walked around a bit, which was great! Not enough time to do much more though. Definitely could have used more hours here.

Most of our group wanted to attend the lumberjack show - it is what it is. Did a rainforest excursion/raptor sanctuary - easily the weakest excursion of our trip. We waited until last minute to book our Ketchikan outings, so we're partly to blame. Would like a do-over there.

We kayaked. It was a lot of fun. The construction in town was poorly run and the construction workers were very nasty. I was surprised at the information spot in front of the ship, the woman was less than helpful with helping us find out how to get to see totum poles after we kayaked.

We enjoyed the Rainforest Tour and Raptor Center excersion in Ketchikan. It poured rain most of our time there, but there's lots of shopping there.

Our other favorite Alaskan Town, because of it's SALMON! There is a small store in Ketchikan where we always send out our Salmon Orders to our families. Also, if we had sailed in last of August or beginning of Sept - all of the Merchandise on all of the cruise stops would have been discounted greatly - end of their season.

First stop, lots of shopping and delicious chowder! Walked to Creek street and thankfully there was a free city bus to take us back
