Review summary

Our trip to Alaska was beautiful and memorable in so many ways. From our experiences on board the ship to the excursions and sightseeing in the ports, it was wonderful in every way. If I never get to do it again (which I will if I can) I can check it off my bucket list as on of the best vacations ever.

Ship tip

The Ruby Princess is a well oiled, well maintained ship. The crew was professional and friendly. We loved attending their different "game shows"...full of laughter and personality. The food was good and service even better. Our room was always ready for us and very comfortable. We had an overall great experience!

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Seattle is beautiful, friendly and clean with so many things to do. This is a whole other trip in itself.

Juneau, Alaska

Juneau was rainy when we visited but just not the immediate beauty the other ports had. More city, commercial life than the other ports, but I'm sure that has to do with the capitol being there. We did see bald eagles though and took and excursion to Mendenhall Glacier and Mt. Roberts Tram, which we did enjoy very much. Too many jewelry stores in every port and too much pressure to buy from them all.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We probably got more history lessons out of Skagway than any other port. Took the White Pass Rail, panned for gold, and enjoyed a great BBQ lunch provided through our excursion. Very interesting buildings and history throughout town. Capped things off with an Alaskan Doughboy...delicious!

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Beautiful town! Maybe even our favorite it had so much character and charm. We did the Lumberjack show, Creek Street, and walked around a bit, which was great! Not enough time to do much more though. Definitely could have used more hours here.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
Definitely not enough time in this port. Victoria is a beautiful place to visit and deserves to be seen in the daylight and for a longer stretch of time.

Good for you. Loved Alaska also. Been there twice. I never wanted to go-I have in to my husband and went. I loved it more than him.

I reached the Alaska bucket list goal last year and I'm going to get the Hawaii one off my list next April... I'm so glad you had a memorable trip and hope you have many more...
