Review summary

This truly was an amazing trip. In addition to the ports we Loved the day we cruised through Glacier Bay. We pulled up parallel to a large glacier and sat there for about 1 1/2 hours giving us plenty of time to see not only small pieces slough off but hear the thunderous cracking and witnessing a larger portion calve off. I would recommend the Alaskan Inside passage cruise heartily. The only downside was the disorganized way that the Vancouver embarkation & disembarkation is accomplished. They shouldn't try to have 4 cruise ships (1 wasn't Holland America) embarking & disembarking at the same time. We also had difficulty when we disembarked as we had a shuttle (not through the cruise line) to take us back to our hotel. No one seemed to know where we needed to catch it. We went to where it dropped us off & were told to go to door D, which was all large buses. From there we were told to go to Door A which turned out to be for taxi service, then Door E which was excursions????????????? Finally found someone who guided us to the street level where we got the assistance we needed.

3 Holland America ships were all embarcking at the same time. Total confusion trying to figure out where to go no clear signs giving directions. Never plan to cruise out of Vancouver again!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate most meals in the Lido Market food was always great. We really loved their salad bar. We only at in the main dining room once, food was great but unless you don't mind spending 1 1/2 to 2 hours over each meal it's not worth it. Our favorite was the Canneletto Restaurant, excellent italian food and excellent service well worth the $15.00 per person charge.

Service and Staff

All of the ship personnel were great, always eager to assist us in any way. Our room stewards did a wonderful job keeping up our rooms. The staff in the Canneletto restaurant treated us like we were family whenever we saw them.

Didn't really see much there, it was just where we got on and off the ship.

Picked up tours when we got off the ship, went whale watching then to the Mendenhall Glacier. Both were great. Saved a lot over booking same thing through cruise line.

Skagway, Alaska

We took the 8 hour bus, train excursion through Holland America into the Yukon. It was Amazing, so much scenery and history of the area as well. Time was tight but with so much to see in so little time they did a great job.

Ketchikan, Alaska

We didn't do an excursion at this port, just wandered the town, there was a lot to see.
