Loved Ketchikan! We did not book an excursion, just walked the city, then took a short hike. Great shopping, lots of eagles. Beautiful stop with plenty to do.

OH MY...I blew my travel budget at this port which is my favorite. Bought 2 pieces of native Alaskan art, l a beautiful bentwood carved/paintned box and the other a very unique 36-38" totem. So worth this port call to visit and explore.

Go to the visitor center and pick up a walking tour map. It will take you through Creek Street, a charming town with lots of history.

This is a busier port. We took the city bus ($2 one way)to Totem Bight ($5 entry fee). We got there before the coach loads of people arrived and it was magical. If you let the rain stop you, you won't see anything in Ketchikan. There are plenty of souvenir shops in Ketchikan to do last minute shopping.

We used this Port to do our shopping, so we got this out of the way. The stores and the people waiting on you were really nice. We walked the town as much as we could and ate lunch at the Alaska Fish House. Highly recommend eating here. The food was excellent, and the view is great.

Loved!! We did Misty Fjord Flight seeing on the seaplane. It was incredible! They do water landing in middle of fjord and you get out of the plane and stand on the pontoons and take the most amazing pics you will see! I would highly recommend. Town is really quaint. We walked around a bit after the flight and had ice cream. The have a town bus shuttle that you can get on anywhere in town and they drop you back off at boat.

We were told to prepare for rain so we wore our waterproof pants and jackets. It rained hard nearly the whole time in port. We did the Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Walk. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the plant and animal life there. She pointed out the various plants and animal life and told us about them. We saw banana slugs, a black bear, otters, and eagles before going inside to see totem pole artists. Loved this tour!
