Review summary

One of the best vacation packages we have ever done. The Princess company was extremely organized. We did not have to touch our luggage from the time we left our first hotel in Vancouver till we got to the airport at the end of the land portion of our trip. After getting off the ship in Anchorage, the bags were taken to our first hotel and when we arrived a hostess handed us our room keys. The room was ready and the luggage was in the room. Same thing happened at each stop. Not having to deal with luggage and long check in lines made the trip much more relaxing and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Princess for cruises AND land tours.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Got picked up at our hotel on the day of the cruise, bagage was taken directly to our stateroom while we went on a guided tour of Vancover. After the tour we were dropped off at the ship, given our welcome abored package and went right to our room.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Several great bars and the food was very good. Only had one meal where the fish was a little overcooked, but overall, everything was very well done. We did "anytime dining" and sat with different people every night. Great way to meet people from all over the world.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Too much emphasis on shopping!! Art auctions, jewelry sales, etc.

Great city with lots of places to see. We arrived 2 days early and did the hop-on-hop-off bus. Great way to see and learn about the city.

did the "Whale Tails and Ales" tour. Nice ride on a boat to see whales and seals then off for a tour of the Alasken Brewing Company. Found our favorite Amber and Smoked Porter beers!

Another rustic/quant town. Did the train ride up to the White pass at the Canadian border. Beautiful scenery.

Went directly to the train that took us to Talkeetna, a small town that the TV show "Northern Exposure" was based on. Had lunch then caught the bus to the Princess Mt. McKinley Lodge.
