Review summary

Alaska is beautiful and seeing it via a cruise is a great way to explore some of the different parts of Alaska! The food was good, but can get boring after a few days. The entertainment/shows were great, but some of the onboard activities for kids/families could be improved. Overall service was good!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Some of the food was good, but it felt repetitive. I was expecting the food at the restaurants to be better than the buffet, but it was the same or sometimes not as good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Need more varieties of board games (for kids and families) in the card room. The swimming pools need to be heated to be able to enjoy them. Hot tubs were great, but always crowded.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We were very happy with the entertainment. Jasper did a great job putting together some great programs.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My child didn't care too much for the children programs. Some of the activities were fun like the movies and balloon making.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Out Steward (Jarinick) was awesome! For the most part, the dining staff were friendly and the service was fine. I did notice towards the end of the trip that service levels dropped slightly in the dining areas (staff were slower taking away plates, etc.).

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Room was always kept nice (thanks to our Steward). Pretty satisfied overall. I didn't like that you could smell cigarette smoke in some parts of the ship. I also felt the public bathrooms could have been cleaned more often.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Overall, I was satisfied with my cabin. I had issues the first day with getting hot water to my shower, but our steward contacted maintenance and got it fixed right away. Our steward really went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Our room was always clean and we always looked forward to seeing what kind of towel art our steward was going to leave for us.

Ship tip

The shows were excellent. Definitely carve out time to attend the shows.

Go to the visitor center and pick up a walking tour map. It will take you through Creek Street, a charming town with lots of history.

Victoria, British Columbia

Walk to downtown via the fisherman warf route! It's more scenic than taking the shuttle.

No complaints. I guess I have not been on a cruise long enough that the food got 'boring'. Maybe someday, but not yet.
