The Icy Strait port city of Hoonan was very interesting and showed the resiliency of its small community by responding to their lost fishing trade by building for tourism. They are a proud people and will succeed.

We learned how to cook salmon and halibut on the grill, got some new recipes. Saw a whale in the harbour. That was unexpected.

Don't worry about walking to Hoonah. There isn't much there but it is a nice walk if the weather is good. Celebrity could probably skip this port!

This was our favorite! Spend a lot of time on the nature trail and the beach. Turning over rocks and seeing crabs and starfish. Loved the quite and peaceful place. Spendy lunch however...but good!

Don't miss the nature walk with Jeff, the naturalist. He was VERY informative and able and happy to answer any questions from participants.
