Review summary

Radiance of the Seas was the perfect size for the Alaska cruise. Not too big to sail into smaller inlets and not too small to have all the amenities you want on a vacation. The highlight of our trip was to walk on the Meade glacier. It was awsome. The weather was perfect too - nice and cool. We danced every night, ate lots of salmon and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Can't wait to go back again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent in both dining rooms and for those who want something extra, there are the specialty restaurants. We ate at Geovanni's one night and it was delicious.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We did see 2 shows. They were great. Lots of talented people, dancers and musicians, especially the Radiance of the Seas Orchestra

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was up to our expectations.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is beautiful. Lots of artwork around the ship, lots of clubs and so many things to do.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a balcony room and it was great. I like to sleep with the window open and while it was too cool to sit outside for very long, it made for great sleeping.

Ports of call

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
The best of all the ports - we took a helicopter ride and walked on the Meade glacier. This was the highlight of the trip for us
Don't Miss: The shopping - lots of native crafts and a very quaint western town

Ketchikan, Alaska

Went to Misty Fjord. Definitely something to see

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
We learned how to cook salmon and halibut on the grill, got some new recipes. Saw a whale in the harbour. That was unexpected.
Don't Miss: The chowder

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
This is a great place to walk on the glacier which is about 2 miles out of town and so accessible. We went whale watching and it rained the whole time. Saw lots of fins and tales.
Don't Miss: The glacier

Pros: ship size

Cons: too short
