Went on the bush exploration and brown bear search which was really interesting (no bear, however; saw them on the way back to town at the airstrip!). Excursion was still worth it and I would do it again. Saw MANY killer whales right from the beach where the tenders left us off!

The tour of the Hoonah village was well worth the money. La Vern (tour guide) & Cookie (driver) were outstanding. La Vern was "down to earth" and sincere in providing us with the history of the village and its people.

The port was very nice, but the gravel streets are hard on the feet. We took a $5 round-trip shuttle to downtown, and all we can show for that is pictures of two churches and a big laundromat which was bigger in size than the churches. I think that this town will eventually grow and be developed like the other major cities.
