Review summary

It was fine...nothing wrong with a well designed ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was not as good as our previous cruise (not on Celebrity), and the predictability of the buffet in particular got a little tedious by the end of the trip. The dessert night was a nice idea, but lacked something...most of the desserts were the same ones available anytime. If it is going to be a special night, there should be unique fare there.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Truly outstanding! Most of the entertainers were wonderful! Good diversity, scheduling, and instruction.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wonderful crew...especially Maria for our stateroom and Soe & Lorena for dinners.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was nicely laid out with easy access. Well taken care of pools and exercise room, very clean dining areas, and plenty of restrooms - all spotless.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I have nothing negative to say about the stateroom...it was pretty much as expected...except...there were four of us in the room and it was fine when we got there, but no where in the descriptions did it say there were upper fold-down berths. So we lived with a worry about that until we got there. Our person assured us there would be enough room for us, but the person we talked to when Janet was on vacation said, "Four of you are staying in that? I'm not showing enough bed space, according to the room description."

Ports of call

Ketchikan, Alaska

Again, our nature walk was rained out, so we spent our time shopping. It was okay, but nothing unusual.
Don't Miss: Don't Know...

Juneau, Alaska

Nice town, but our "glacier walk & helicopter ride" was canceled due to rain & fog. There was not even a view available from the top of the tram.
Don't Miss: Don't Know...

Skagway, Alaska

Took a bus up to the Yukon in Canada...great tour guide, then had a dog sled ride which was okay, and a wonderful scenic train trip back to town.
Don't Miss: The dog sled ride at the musher's camp is great...but do the local one, not the Canadian one...it is a much better experience.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Our favorite port!
Don't Miss: Whale watch is excellent! We did F.I.S.H.E.S. independantly and owner Floyd, even after years of taking small groups out, got excited with every sighting. He really made the trip!

Pros: The entertainment was excellent, but the personal service was the highlight of the trip!

Cons: Having a dress code for dinner that was not enforced! My wife & I packed extra clothing and I even rented a jacket ($40) to comply, then we noticed people strolling in wearing shorts, jeans, and such. I don't like the dress code personally, but if you are going to have one, enforce it!
