I'm bringing my birthday suit and my swimming suit but not the one I'm wearing in my photo.. This has been touched on before... Am I making a mistake? I'm going solo. Last trip I dressed up and sat alone
It's easy for a man... Yet, I don't think I'll bring it this year. I have new slacks and a shirt I just bought... That'll do for the steak house and I might as well skip formal night. Yet this time I have early dining so I might have a nice table with good people.
A little birdie told me that the European hottie loves a man in a suit ... personally, I am a sucker for a man in a suit even if he were standing in my back year .... take the suit ... what's one more little item ....
Just gotta ask (sorry). Is 'back year' supposed to be 'back yard'? or back rear? or - don't go there 
People are divided on the subject but I gonna skip the suit this go around.
Hubby packed 2 suits but he already knows it's a sure way to get lucky ...

Out of the 10 cruises my son went on, he brought a suit every time except once ... he kicked himself the whole cruise because we ended up dining in the MDR a lot that cruise and he wished he'd had it...He usually wears a suit with an open collar shirt - no tie,,,

you need to not only bring a suit, you should wear a top hat and tails. That is to say, really overdress. Stand out. Make a statement. Wear something, steampunk ish. Something that will get you noticed. And when the photographer takes your picture, tell him / her that you want it processed in sepia. There should even be a setting in-camera for it.
Though probably impractical, that sounds like a great idea!
I've got an ambrotype (photo printed on glass) at home that I got at a Civil War reenactment. I tell everybody that it is my great grandfather and his "escort", and people are amazed at how much it looks like me and my wife!
Todd - you should be comfortable, after all it is your vacation. I do believe that the classy babes will look kindlier at someone who spiffs up, though.
At this point in our lives, comfort is key. We'll dress somewhere between the cruise's line's minimum requirement and their "suggestion", probably leaning closer to the requirement.
