How NOT to write a review

OK, you had a bad cruise. Maybe it was the cruise from hell. Maybe the service was good, but the food was bad. You can't wait to get home and tell everyone about your experience. Here is what not to do.....

DO NOT CONDEMN AN ENTIRE CRUISE LINE BECAUSE YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE ON ONE PARTICULAR SHIP ON ONE PARTICULAR WEEK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please just describe why your experience was less than stellar. Was it the food, the service, the constant up selling ? If someone up chucks in one of the hot tubs, don't complain that it took 1/2 a day to clean it. There are protocols for sterilizing surfaces.

You are reviewing one week, on one ship. If I have a bad experience on the Norwegian Dawn, I don't come on here screaming that NCL is the worst cruise line ever. I'll write what was good about the cruise, and what I felt needed some managerial attention.

DONT BLAME THE CRUISE LINE FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER, OR A BAD EXCURSION.

The excursions are private contractors. If a cruise line receives enough complaints, they will stop offering those excursion options. As far as the weather goes, maybe you should have done some research and not booked that lovely Caribbean cruise during hurricane season. It the weather. It's out of the industries control. And don't say there was nothing to do. If you can't find something to do on a ship, that's on you.

Remember, a cruise ship is a floating hotel. Cabins are occupied 24/7/365. You only call it home for 1 week.

I agree with most of the first post, but I do not see a problem with rating a cruise with one star if it is indeed a cruise from hell.

Granted, on a lot of them, one thing has gone wrong and the poster will allow it to ruin an otherwise marvelous vacation, and I believe that is what BAK may have been addressing.

Unfortunately, we do not yet have the technology that can read a persons mind (at least not that the public knows about (he says, donning his tin foil hat)Surprised) so we will have to wade through the reviews without paying attention to the stars or the ratings.

Thank you!!!

I was a cruise and a firm believer that a bad day at sea sure beats a great day in the office.

And ctav...THAT'S the positive approach people should have on a cruise ;)

Agree!!!

Last cruise I was on, it rained on sail away day and I got soaked,

Rained the first port day, I got wet.

I had a great cruise.

Okay I cave in cheaper than "Anger Management " AngryAngryHappy

Like I said on my comment Johngold , i vented and I was wrong sure I wasn't happy at all but there is a better way to handle the situation indeed, My wife agreed with some of the responses that I was overreacting , I was making an issue out of something that was beyond our control, such as tired crew, her comment their human, food , she said personnel, ports , get over it, than it dawn on me shame on me to tell someone not to do please no do for that I am still a little upset at myself for posting a "WE COMMENT WHEN IT SHOULD Of Been A MY Review" lesson learned totally enjoy CruiseLine and The outstanding people that do respond and educate us individuals to not be so selfish one bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch . Enjoy your NewYears to you and yours.

On my third cruise we had a really bad extra pay dinner for 6 on the Dawn. That is the only time I complained to the cruise line directly. I got a response to my hand written letter and a credit issued on the credit card. There have been things that happen on the cruises we have been on, but not enough to really slam the whole cruise. The bad dinner did not affect the great time we had in Bermuda, nor did it diminish the great french Bistro dinner. I read some of these reviews and I have tagged some as inappropriate. I like to hear the good and bad, but within reason as well.

I agree but disagree , personal experience recently had a horrid cruise with Carnival on the Triumph and yes i vented on the vessel along with others and got absolutely nowhere feel on death ears got home and vented some more to Carnival Corporate and received a e-mail saying blah blah , Here's $50bucks for your trouble not one time did I ask for anything I just wanted to know how a Cruise can go so bad never got an answer. So I took to bashing the CruiseLine the Vessel etc etc . And what I learned from the responses on CruiseLine were quite the lesson that it's not fair to say "Don't do this don't do that" because it was my experience not there's sure I agree now there were few moments that were good, I have learned to leave it at that and Thank you to all that have schooled me thru this not easy when your spending good money for a bad time I must say. Captains and all seasoned cruisers I salute you. .... CruiseLine is great Therapy ... Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all ... Be Safe..

I have been on 5 cruises and all but one was totally horrible cause I didn't hook up? NervousHappy

Got caught in a hurricane on my first cruise. After that one day, everything was great and I was hooked. There are always positives.
