Guest services line??????

I have only been on 5 cruises and only once did I feel the need to wait in line for guest service and it was premature on my part. I checked the kiosk when I boarded to see if my $4oo was applied to my account. The Kiosk did not reflect it so I finally was able to speak to the rep and she showed me that is was and so did the TV channel in my cabin. Other that I never once felt the need to see them. Why are the lines gigantic at the service desk? What possibly could these 100's of people a day possibly need? How can so many people have so many issues? Boggles my mind.

Maybe, went once about a financial thing but it was all correct, I had erred. Other times it was to ask about tours. Once asked one lady to marry me and was dragged off by security. Never went up to complain. Another time I went up to ask about a customs issue. And one time about where to score the best chocolate in town.

K I was kidding, I already knew where the best chocolate in that town is. And may have exaggerated somewhere else in there as well.

Agreed. But, my cruise is all paid for in advance. Why do it on board??? My cruise is in August, all paid for plus cruise cash applied to my card. It's so easy to get it taken care of way before hand.

I think most of the lines are either credit card problems or complaints.

Based on many reviews I've read I wouldn't be surprised to hear of this really happening. There are people that will proclaim "Never sail them again" because of weather related issues that the cruise line has no control of and acts in ways to assure passenger safety.

I've gone to guest services a handful of times to ask questions. That's what they are their for. Never had a problem with any customer service representative. In fact there was one on the Grand Princess who I thought went above and beyond and I went back to the counter at the end of the cruise to get her name so I could included her in my cruise review.

What line???

As mentioned above, there are many reasons why guests need to speak to staff at the front desk. What does surprise me is the long line on the first day. It would have to be something really important to get on that long line. The last time i stood on a line at the front desk was because I received an email that my credit card used at Home Depot was compromised. The company issued me a new card but it was sent to my home & I was on the ship. The card was needed to pay the balance of our bill on the cruise.I needed to used a different card.

Note, I have also gone to ask questions about what I am seeing in the area. They were who told me about flying fish.... I had never even heard about them let alone knew I'd see one. I don't do this when it is busy, sometimes the staff like to have a simple question and not a problem to solve.

Once we went to leave a note for a crew member, and on 2 different cruises we went to GS to see about "regifting" the 'champagne' that had been left in our room for us. As we talked to the fellow at GS, a bride and groom came to the lobby to wait for a special tender to take them to Grand Cayman where they were getting married, so we gave them the bottle of bubbly. They were so appreciative and knowing we helped to make their day a little more special, sure felt good. The next bottle we left for a couple we met at our hotel in Cocoa Beach, who were staying on the same deck as us but we couldn't remember their room number so GS helped us with that.

We only went once and we were charged for gratuities on our sail & sign even though we already prepaid them.
