Best Thing That Happened on a Cruise ...

Got engaged ...got divorced ..met that special someone. what was the best thing that ever happened to you on a cruise?

For me, it was restoring my serenity and peace of mind. My mother had been murdered, I'd spent five long years in a courtroom, and I had become a shell of the person I used to be. I suffered from PTSD, depression, you name it. Cruising restored me. I could finally exhale and begin to enjoy life again. There is something about the ocean that has that impact on you and you can't help but feel that all is right with the world. I can close my eyes - hear, see & smell the ocean and go to my "happy place". I learned to stop letting people, places & things rob me of the joy I want to feel in my heart.

I won a costume contest once. And on another cruise my BFF and I were on a winning Quest team.

I think it’s simply that we discovered cruising to be “our thing”. We had plenty of shared interests when we got together, but our first cruise was pretty much perfect. Since then we’ve cruised with tons of family and friends (love getting others addicted), but the truly magical moments are when it’s just the two of us like on our first cruise.

It was my DGF's first cruise and we started our relationship 4 years ago on that cruise.

Nothing really notable happened to me on a cruise. On one cruise, though, in the casino, I was playing on a slot machine & I won a pretty big jackpot on a play. However, the machine just kept paying off until it emptied out completely. At the same time, my survey entry won in the theater only of course, I wasn't able to claim the $50 prize since I was cleaning up in the casino.

I've met some really neat people through the roll calls. Some of us are still in touch.

Go ahead and speak your mind! Wink

So that's what the couple was doing ....

I became addicted.... Big Smile

To my grave...smiling...remember this amazing experience on the Song of America. I was hired to work on the crew by the production company that was shooting a commercial for Royal Caribbean. Most of the scenes were shot aboard that ship over the first three days of a seven-day cruise. On the first night off work, I met a woman with her sister-in-law in the disco. We hit it off and promised to meet the next day. We did, she was pretty impressed by my job I suppose. That night we had drinks and spent "quality time" in my cabin. When we made it to Puerto Rico, half of the crew got off and flew back to Miami. The rest stayed aboard actually enjoyed a free cruise. I got to choose where I slept, my equipment-filled cabin, or luggage-filled theirs.

I got addicted to cruising... Lol. Yummy
