Are you more or less active on a cruise?

When you are cruising, are you more active because you're in the gym, using the outdoor tract, and doing active excursions or do you find you are less active, more relaxed and enjoy nice lazy days doing very little?

Much more active, since >90% of my workday is spent on the computer.

Being stuck in an office for 10 hours a day, I find myself a lot more physically active on a cruise, but my mind is in total zen mode.

Depends upon the type of cruise. If there are a lot of port days where excursions involve 10-12 hours with mountain hikes or lots of walking then I'm more active on the cruise. If there are a lot of sea days, even though I work out every morning in the ship's gym like I do at home, the net result is that I'm more sedentary on the ship.

Like the rest of you, there is always something to do on a cruise. I do not go to the gym but seem to be walking everywhere. I think for me it is a different kind of active. I also just sit back and relax a lot more on a cruise. So my answer to the question is: yes.

Much more active on the ship! I mean I have my down time to enjoy my balcony, but there's always some place to go or something to see or do when on a cruise! That's why I go after all! 38 days and counting...... Happy

What I miss the most when not cruising is all the walking I do on a cruise ... can't get motivated to walk at home but put on miles when on a cruise.

In my limited cruising experience so far, way more active on the trip! My last cruise we had five ports on a seven night itinerary and did an excursion in every one. It was tiring but great! It's fun to always have something to do, whether on land or the ship.

My activity level seems to be more on a cruise, but not a lot more. I wear a Fitbit to keep track of my steps, and it's easy to see them adding up each day. Although I do love relaxing on the deck on a lounger for hours at a time, I only use the stairs to get from floor to floor, and I make sure I get in half my daily min target before having breakfast. My routine works for me and I don't feel guilty that way having a few extra indulgences like desserts without gaining weight.
