Great cruise

We set sail from Ft. Lauderdale on a Caribbean Cruise. Ports of call were Half Moon Cat, Bahamas, Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos, Amber Cove, Dominican Republic and Key West Florida. Half Moon is owned by Holland America and it is a beach themed day including horse back riding and a BBQ lunch. Grand Turk is a pleasant Caribbean stop with duty free shopping and a nice beach. Amber Cove DR is a tourist initiative built by the government. It includes one of the largest swimming pools in the Caribbean which also featured shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Very clean and friendly. Key West features everything you would look for in a vacation stop. Tourist attractions, great restaurants, lots of entertainment and local shopping. Lots of history and plenty of tourist options.

December 2019 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Fort Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Sky Princess

A wonderful cruise in the Caribbean

This was a wonderful carribean cruise on a great ship. Just 3 ports but that was OK. Will be sailing on her again in 2023. Captain Tuvo 'bye bye, makes the cruise extra memorable

December 2018 - 7 Night Western Caribbean Holiday (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Nieuw Statendam

Fabulous ship, classy and stylish. The only negatives for me was the slow drinks service in the evenings - not enough staff in the bars. Had to wait over 20 mins for a drink most nights. Also, there is no table service in the Dutch coffee shop and more often than not we had to clear our own table to sit down. Other than that it was the best ship we have sailed on.

Sit back and relax

Key West, Florida

A great place to have a walk around and explore. A civilised place with a good vibe. We walked around the streets past moat of the attractions. Good coffee at the Cuban Coffee Queen.

Nieuw Statendam

Nieuw Statendam

Don't expect lots of entertainment

Grand Turk Island

No need to leave the port. Great beach right in the shadow of the ship. Clear, calm and shallow water. great for snorkeling. Buy a snorkel from Amazon before you leave home as they are expensive to buy (or hire) on location.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Got a taxi to the far end of 7 mile beach to an area called 'Cemetery Beach'. Lovely - highly recommended. After sunbathing and swimming we walked a mile or so back along the beach and got a bus back to port. No problems.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Booked a resort day at the Hotel RIU Ocho Rios through a company called Jaital Tours. Had a great day using their beach, pool and all inclusive facilities (food and drink).

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

We love half moon cay. Not keen on the BBQ . Preferred to take our own food to avoid the queues and chaos. Love the beach and the vibe. Best day of the cruise in our opinion.

Cozumel, Mexico

When we were an hour from port at sea we were lucky to see dolphins below our balcony riding the bow wave etc. Great to see. Who needs boat trips to see them?!
