A very organized operation. Boarding and departure is well operated. The staff could not be better.

This was our first Cruise and as we boarded the ship in S.F. we both felt like we were walking into a whole different world. The experience was one we will never forget the staff made us feel right at home and as we walked into our room my wife and I just said Wow ...this is really nice. Our only regret was that the Cruise was way to short (3 days) about the time we started to settle in it was time to leave the Zuiderdam ...that was not easy to do.

This cruise was not emblematic of the Holland America we have come to know and love. After 1,000+ weeks at sea, the Zuiderdam is ready to be retired or for a complete retrofit and overhaul. Fortunately, she was headed into dry dock the second we disembarked. Unfortunately, that did not benefit us at all. We made wonderful friends and were treated like royalty by the outstanding waitstaff, made the most of an overall disappointing experience, and will cruise with Holland again. But I cannot recommend the Zuiderdam in good faith.

Great cruise but we were faced by a lot of rain till the last three days when the weather finally improved. Even early in the cruise through Hawaii we started having rain and it never stopped till three days before the end. I did apprecite that the rain which kept us cool. The last Nuku Hiva day was hot so all in all it was great. One risky place on the ship was the gym. The yoga mats were dangerous and would slip and slide on the floor they did disappear after the first few days. The mats left were too thin and you needed at least two on top of each other. The young man in charge was very young and I am not sure he knew how to work with older people. You need a more experienced person there. Also the scale at the gym was very poor. You step on it five times and you get five different weights.

This is a great adventure. I would not recommend it for November as the rainy season starts then, we actually saw a lot of rain, adapted to it. Humidity was very high because of the rains. They offer this itinerary in March and that might be a better time.

We noticed some cut backs since this is our 1st cruise since Covid. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We met some amazing people we hope to maintain friendships with. We will be doing this cruise again, this is our 3 Alaska Cruise with Holland America.

Our Alaskan cruise was magnificent. Holland America is top notch. Glacier Bay is a place beyond words to describe.

I would do this cruise again and bring much less stuff. Alaska was cool, but not cold.

I had such a good time and have already book another cruise for.next year to.cophengen I can't wait for another adventure

We sailed from Vancouver to Juneau, Alaska, the capital of Alaska. Then, we went to Skagway and rode the White Pass Railroad. Then we visited Glacier Bay. Last stop, Ketchikan. Great Cruise!

Loved cruising again with Holland America! Alaska is beautiful with such stunning scenery!

In summary, we had a good cruise. The weather was good the first few days. But from Glacier Bay back to Vancouver it was cloudy, rainy and the seas were rough. Our cruse was the first of the season. There was still a lot of snow around especially when coming into Juneau and in Glacier Bay. At times the wind was cold. Several tours were canceled because not enough person were interested. Or the tours to the Yukon have been canceled due to customs issues with Canadian government. This was disappointing. Many shops were not open yet and some of the stores did not have all their stock out on display. The positive, we were the first ship so the ports were not overly crowded. Alaskans we’re just happy to see tourist again after two years.

The Mexican Rivera is a pleasant trip. The Ports are nice and the only negative is that people will be trying to sell you jewelry and cigars everywhere you go. Learn to say "No Gracias". Also in some ports you can get cheaper tours of the city on the pier. But negotiate.

Our cruise before this cruise was on a sister ship line known for "fun". Although there was less "fun" available on this cruise ship--we were struck by how relaxing this cruise was going to be within 5 minutes of being on the ship. The crew is absolutely wonderful. Everyone said good morning, good afternoon, or good evening EVERY TIME they walked past us--it's impossible not to feel welcomed when on this ship. I did feel bad for the handful of kids I saw on the ship--they looked pretty bored among the adults (although that is only an assumption on my part). This is definitely a ship for folks who want to read a book while on board. There are lots of non-active activities like Trivia and Bingo, a few game shows, and some night time entertainers who were only OK. This is mostly a cruise for folks who just want to wind down and relax. Although in our case--this is what we wanted, I can understand why others might be bored. I was told that the average age on this cruise was 71. Since this was a repositioning cruise--many on board were casino customers who had "gotten a deal"--so the casino was pretty busy most nights.
