The Mexican Rivera is a pleasant trip. The Ports are nice and the only negative is that people will be trying to sell you jewelry and cigars everywhere you go. Learn to say "No Gracias". Also in some ports you can get cheaper tours of the city on the pier. But negotiate.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Its was very quick. San Diego is easy to go out of.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Enjoyed the main dinning room, the waiters and support staff did a good job getting meals out. Soup was hot. Just a recommendation if ordering beef ask for medium if you like medium rare. Was a little disappointed with Specialty restaurant; nice decor and service was good but food was better in main dinning room.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pool and hot tubs were great. Hot tub was hot not lukewarm. Enjoyed eating outdoors in Mexico when weather was good. In Alaska had a good clear day in Skagway had lunch looking at the snow covered mountains, nothing better.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Didn't care for one of the Bill Board singers, but like the piano entertainment usually. The Lincoln Center Studio, classical music is a good contrast to BB King's Club music. Dance group is very good. And I always enjoy the BBC Earth series.
Children's Programs
Don't have young children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is easy to get around. The elevators are very responsive and get you to where you need to go. No long waiting. Ship is well maintained and clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The room was very good. Partial view but it gives you a feel of outside. Could use more storage space, but this is only an issue if your cruise is over 14 days.
Ship tip
The Holland American Ships are smaller and those typically sailing are older and more subdue. Not party ships.
easy to get to the terminal. If your flying take the local bus. Right outside of luggage pick-up area. If your 65 over its $1.25 and drops you off right in front of the
Cabo isn't really Mexico. The Landscape is the key to the visit. Lover's Beach and the Arc are things to see. Typically the ship comes into Cabo at roughly 7 AM, but its magical if you go up to the Lido deck and watch as you go into the Port area, usually there are dolphins and depending on the time of year whales.
Was very surprised by this location. When you arrive it doesn't look like much, but take the Shuttle to downtown, it reminded me of Santa Barbara. The surrounding area is a desert.
My favorite location. It has lots to offer. If you can walk the blue line to downtown and the church. There is lots to see in old Town area and the "Malecon" has divers, nice walk. Golden Zone is hotels and beaches, but they are not white sand. You can easily get to Stone Island beach is OK and easy to get to.
This Port is a modern City with a little old architecture around the church and Maecon. Its a nice walk, suggest to get there take a local bus roughly 50cents US.
