Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainers brought aboard at each port provide great shows. We really enjoy the comedians. There is a wide variety of live music every evening on the ship.
Children's Programs
No children with us.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Couldn't ask for anything more.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Cleaning seems to be going on 24/7. Very easy to find your way around the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Very user friendly room & worth having a balcony. The only complaint I have is that no one can ever provide the specific room size. For example the square footage of a room may range from 235-375 feet, but no one can tell you the size of the room you are booking.
Ship tip
If you take the better insurance offered for your cruise & you are unable to go on a Holland America tour because of health issues no matter how minor you will receive a refund.
The shuttle to town was 10 Euros each. This was a COSTCO Tour & we had a very difficult time finding the starting point for the bus tour. However, the Hop On, Hop Off bus tour was well worth it. After the tour we walked into a very small establishment, Monten, for something to eat. The owner, Jasper, informed us that he did not serve food, but encouraged us to stay & have a local beer. All of the patrons were very friendly.
We had booked a tour, but didn't go because we weren't feeling well. By noon we were good to go & walked into Kiel following the "Blue Line" on the sidewalk from the port to town. We were able to connect to the internet at Starbucks. Note: We didn't make a purchase, just sat at their outdoor area.
Took the Hop On, Off Bus at the pier & we also walked around town. The old city was very unique with beautiful buildings & interesting shops. We had lunch at the Beer House Brewery. A flight of beer had 8 samples which were 6-8 ounces. We ordered a large pretzel which was made to order, latkes & bratwurst. Would love to go back to Tallinn for several days.
The ship spent two days here & we had an 8 hour tour each day. There was a different guide each day, they were very informative & spoke perfect English. The weather was sunny & cold which did nothing to take away from this fantastic two days. This was a Holland America tour which was on the expensive side, but was well worth it.
This was a boat & bus tour. The people were friendly as in all of the countries we visited. The only negative thing was that the stay in Finland was very short.
Hop On, Hop Off Bus tour. WE also walked around a bit & had lunch at Kunggallen. THe food was very good & the waitress refused a tip in Euros or dollars. She stated unlike the United States they are well paid & thanked us for the offer.WE also walked through a food mall that was just amazing. We were in Stockholm for two days & on the second day we took a canal tour, walked around a park & went to the ABBA museum.
Went on a tour to Wismer & walked around the town which went back to the 1200's. Viewed building damage still remaing from WWII. The tour also included a stop at a local brewery where we sampled 3 different beers. The brewmaster also explained his brewing process. After the tour we walked around Warnemunde. A beautiful seaport with interesting shops adjacent to where the ship docked. Before we returned to the ship we had beer & hotdogs. This was a mistake because when we returned to the ship the Lido Deck around the pool area was offering German food & beer & we were too full to partake,
Very smooth. We had breakfast before leaving since we were in the last group to disembark & weren't flying home until the next day.The porters here were very helpful.
