We had an excellent experience with the ship and staff. A couple minor issues were a showerhead that needed adjusting and was promptly taken care of, a missing teabag and cup with a room service order, a snagged sweater from a sharp edge on a theater railing. However, the problems were promptly corrected, even \"reweaving\" of the sweater snag making it almost invisible. We enjoyed several educational lectures regarding the sites we were visiting which were presented in a very professional manner (unlike another cruise line we once traveled with).

what a wonderful experience, the cruise and all the employees were flawless. definately would recommend this cruise line. Very impressive.

I was extremely impressed with the organization and precision in the crew operations.

Everyone was very personable, the food was amazing (the desserts were awesome). My wife was able to eat seafood at every meal which was her goal. The spa and gymnasium prevented us from gaining (too much) weight. Everyone was so happy; from the passengers to the crew and wait staff.

Holland America restricts smoking on the ship, but allows individuals to smoke on the verandas to private cabins. This can really ruin your enjoyment if you are a non-smoker, and downwind of a heavy smoker.

The stewards were wonderful, always pleasant and eager to help. I felt the managerial staff were inflexible and inaccessible.

Everything seemed well organized. Very smooth operation. My wife really enjoyed the entertainment.

Upgrading to higher level was a pleasant surprise. Staff, particularly in room ,dinong room were very good. Classical music by a quartet, Microsoft digital classes, folk music in Explorations bar were very good. Best was the passage thru glaciers, Sitka. Ketchikan stop OK, . Could there be more and better vegetarian , Indian food options. .Vancouver stop too short .All in all, a very good cruise

Each individual person was very dedicated & hard working and did a good job; I think the problem was that there simply was not enough staff. It took way too long to eat in the dining room (even for breakfast). The sound system (speakers on the decks & balcony) was inadequate; many speakers were not working.

Food, boredom, weather-rains 362 days/yr in AK, nothing but wheelchairs, walkers & walking sticks. Depressing being around a whole ship of old people. The passengers walked around like they had just rolled out of bed. Some went to the restaurant in their pajamas & sock feet. Food was inedible. The excursions were a rip-off. The "Raptor Center" in Ketchikan was a shed with a crippled eagle & a big woman with an 8 yr old Owl on her hand. That's it! I cannot recommend one good thing about Westerdam. You have to pay for coke/water. Cokes are $2.95/can PLUS a 15% gratuity. I'll never cruise again.

Great service

After the 6th day they finally offered us a tiny fan to cool down the room If you don't mind eating at Golden Coral every night Chicken, chicken , and even turkey at dinner . They did offer top sirloin steak every night if you can cut thru shoe leather. One evening we paid an extra $50 to have a decent meal of fillet which was good . Service in general very poor.

This cruise provided many choices to do as little or as much as possible. I found the quiet that I was looking for, and know that some passengers stayed very busy. The cruise made me feel rested, young, and thin!

The ship was older but was very nice.

We were greeted by a very friendly staff, never met a sour crew member, The ship was very clean and they maintained that cleaniness throughout the journey

tHERE REALLY ISNT MUCH TO SAY.. THE FOOD SELECTION WAS TERRIBLE, THE CREW WAS M=NOT VERY FRIENDLY THE TIME SLOT FOR ST MAARTIN WAS STUPID..GET IN AT 7AM NOTHING OPENS UNTIL 930-10AM AND WE LEAVE AT 230PM CLOSING THE POOL AT 7PM WHEN THE SUN IS STILL SHINING AND PEOPLE AARE STIL ENJOYING THE DECK. VERY VERY LIMITED AREA FOR SMIKERS EXCEPT FOR THE CASINO WHICH WAS THE BIGGIST RIP OFF. WIL NEVER CRUISE HAL AGAIN

The rooms could have been designed a little better but we were happy anyway. i liked the size of the ship...not too big.

The ship was great. The staff was more than happy to fulfill any request that we had. The food was absolutely fabulous. We had a couple of unexpected things happen on the ship and the captain was extremely apologetic while also keeping the entire ship well informed of what was going on. The average age of the ships guests was much older than I expected - probably about 70. My husband and I are in our late thirties, so we were very much in the minority, but the people were still extremely nice!
