We had an excellent experience with the ship and staff. A couple minor issues were a showerhead that needed adjusting and was promptly taken care of, a missing teabag and cup with a room service order, a snagged sweater from a sharp edge on a theater railing. However, the problems were promptly corrected, even \"reweaving\" of the sweater snag making it almost invisible. We enjoyed several educational lectures regarding the sites we were visiting which were presented in a very professional manner (unlike another cruise line we once traveled with).
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We had an excellent experience in the dining room and a wonderful window table\, which might have been related to being in a suite. We noticed that suite guests sometimes got extra attention and benefits\, which we may not receive if we choose a less expensive cabin next time.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to every evening show and enjoyed them all. Some singers are stronger than others and sometimes the instrumental music seemed too loud for those of us who wanted to hear the vocalists better\, but the overall quality was amazing\, including impressive costumes and sets.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We appreciated the relatively \"low-key\" offer of drinks to purchase. With other cruise lines we often felt pressured to purchased alcoholic drinks we did not want. We had none of that feeling with Holland-America.

Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our suite was wonderful\, although we wondered if there would have been less shaking from the engine if we had not been in the rear of the ship. However\, the wonderful views from our corner cabin made up for any disadvantage of being in the rear of the ship. We had more closets and cupboards than we could use\, so the extra hangers sometimes rattled until we figured out a way to quiet them. It was the last day when we finally notice a whole cabinet of glassware -- we could have had quite a party -- but no extra coffee cups\, which we actually could have used. Suite occupants had access to the Neptune Lounge and a private dining area for breakfast. We used both of these benefits many times and will miss them when we are no longer in a suite.
Pros: We loved the attentive service\, quality meals\, beautiful scenery and satisfying excursions.
Cons: We were confused about some of our extra benefits but then pleasantly surprised with extra events and goodies we had not expected.
