Review summary

If you like to be bored and spend a lot of money on uncharges, this cruise is for you. Besides feeling like I was on a floating old age home, the entertainment was great, haha. If you like spending two weeks at sea with nothing to do but play bingo, watch movies, eat, and sleep by the pool than you might like sailing with Holland America. Personally, I would prefer more than one thing scheduled to do at night. Staff is very friendly, but then again they should be since you might feel like jumping off to swim to shore because of boredom.

You obviously didn't do your research. HAL is laid back and for the more mature cruisers. We love them for that. Also you had to know that 6 days a sea would be slow. I agree with the other comments. Go party on RCCL or Carnival.

Your review actually makes me want to go on this ship even MORE! Looking forward to a very relaxing experience where I can unwind for a week without needing to be fed "Entertainment". I get enough of that every day.

I agree they have a more "relaxed" atmosphere but I like HAL just the way they are and find them to have great evening entertainment. Maybe consider RCCL or Carnival for a more "active" cruise...

Can't wait for my relaxing Holland America cruise next Wednesday!!! When I want more fun I book with bigger Carnival ships. This time I'm going laid back with the oldies. Lol

What up charges? We did not incur any additional charges other than the daily gratuity. Holland America is primarily for those that don’t need to constantly be provided entertainment and enjoy relaxing on deck, reading a good book, doing a crossword puzzle or taking a nap. We enjoyed our cruise with them, but it’s not for everyone.

North Pacific Crossing

The ship & crew were A-1. Mother Nature sucked! We had a great cruise, it was our misfortune to be scheduled to arrive in Yokohama the same day as typhoon Hagibis.
