Beautiful ship, but some things were lacking by rogerc326

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vista

Vista is a beautiful ship....not too big and not too small. We loved the cabin we had, the availability to do laundry, the great food, the entertainment and the informative talks. However, we felt the shops on the ship had way too expensive merchandise. We would have liked a few souvenirs pertaining to our itinerary and Oceania and even some t-shirts. Also there were very few snacks available for purchase. We did not like people saving deck chairs by placing personal items on them and then leaving.

Good Cruise Canada to Miami by kdklein15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vista

Overall, we gave the cruise a B+. The ship was beautiful and the food / service were superb. The elevators were a constant problem, and many times a crowd gathered because of operational issues with the elevators, some of which were out of order frequently. We were disappointed we missed two ports. The lack of onboard activities was a disappointment. We would consider taking another Oceania cruise in a warmer climate, so we could fully utilize the pool and related activities.

Mixed Bag but Good Overall by tmeemail

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vista

Overall, I give the ship high ratings. A friend of mine once said you could categorize international travel destination into two ways. A love affair or one night stand. I would categorize France and Italy as love affairs. The UK, Scotland and Ireland a one night stand. There are too many other places to visit vs. hitting this again. At my age (60), time is my greatest asset to protect. I will only go to places that I have a love affair with!

Excursions overpriced and unorganized by Nricha1201

Ship, food, staff, and Aqua Spa were excellent. Ship excursions way overpriced. Self booked excursions very confusing to arrange. Too many Tender ports.

Great trip by jojomon

Enjoyable and mainly booked to experience the new ship. New design was mostly positive but obviously breaking in new staff and dealing with some staff shortages caused a few issues. The Aqua Kitchen was a nice addition but lack of a system for controlling seating of guests a negative.

Wonderful time once we got onboard. Only bad thing was the unbearable heat outside. Many things to do onboard if you choose to attend. Great shows at night.

Outstanding Cruise by robtaft

This was an amazing cruise for us where we learned so very much about the people and the history that led to the current day practices. Could not have asked for a better experience!

Cruise Through History and Enchanting Sites by ebkelsey160

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vista

Overall another very satisfying Oceania cruise on a beautiful new ship. They always manage to have a nice selection of cruise stops and the staff, as usual, was very friendly and helpful in most cases. We always recommend Oceania based on our previous experiences and this cruise was no exception. This was also a nice combination of ports offering a variety of ship based and independent tour opportunities.

January Caribbean Cruise by ianrose123

A great cruise , fantastic food but for the older generation (over 60s) be prepared that Oceania will add 20% onto spa prices and even charge you to top up you card for the casino !

Celebrity offers twice the service at half the price‼️ by MarkXDStops

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vista

No good food, actually bad service, very crowded and overbooked, European style rudeness abounds, Far too expensive for a bad experience. My 14th cruise was my first on high end cruise line like Oceania, and I really missed Celebrity which is better far half or less of the price tag. Even RCL and NCL are way better than this cruise officers staff and kitchen (galley) staff and dining room waitstaff and cabin stews. The promise of a Butler was the biggest unfunny joke ever, a non-English-speaking unshaven barkeep dragged from a San Juan unemployment office and dressed up in a long-tailed tux coat with a constantly confused look on his face and provided no help! Trust me, I am being kind. read my other reviews, I am quite a nice understanding fellow. I am a big "you make your own cruise good" type of guy. That is how bad this cruise ship service is. The hotel manager person and the cruise director and the head chef need to be turned over yesterday. I will give the captain the benefit of the doubt on skipping ports.

A beautiful ship! by cruisernance

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vista

Overall a good cruise. The food and service was excellent as usual. It was an older crowd than previous cruises on Oceania. The entertainment was fine. The comedian was excellent as was the pianist. We didn’t feel there was enough opportunity to dance in various venues or times during the day. It’s the nature of the smaller ships. This will be our last cruise with Oceania as we prefer Celebrity for the variety of things to do. Celebrity is a good experience and a more reasonable price point.

Oceania is Unethical by DMR123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vista

I had two significant issues with Oceania on our last cruise to the British Isles. First, Oceania did not provide a full refund after it cancelled one of the excursions; presumably, along with refunds due to all the other passengers who paid for an Oceania excursion that day. In addition, Oceania “tendered” (used a smaller boat to get its passengers to the dock) on five ports that was not disclosed to passengers before the trip. Unfortunately, this cause two issues. Transferring from the ship to the tender was very difficult for the older passengers due to the “rough” seas. I saw at least two passengers fall attempting to board the tenders. The tenders should have been disclosed to passengers before the cruise so they could decide if they were willing to risk injury, but was not. Also, Oceania pays fees to the port for docking but not for tendering (or at least a smaller fee), which port fees are passed along to the passengers as part of the cost of the cruise. Even though Oceania charged its passengers for something they did not receive (docking at a port), it once again did not refund these fees and instead retained them. I contacted Oceania multiple times regarding both issues and did not receive a response. There is no excuse for Oceania’s lack of a response to my concerns. In any event, at best, Oceania’s actions are unethical and likely are illegal.
