Review summary

Overall a good cruise. The food and service was excellent as usual. It was an older crowd than previous cruises on Oceania. The entertainment was fine. The comedian was excellent as was the pianist. We didn’t feel there was enough opportunity to dance in various venues or times during the day. It’s the nature of the smaller ships. This will be our last cruise with Oceania as we prefer Celebrity for the variety of things to do. Celebrity is a good experience and a more reasonable price point.

Embarkation

Very well done. No complaints. The limited number of passengers made it very easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The Grand Dining Room is beautiful. Very well designed. Food is excellent and the service. The only area of food I can criticize is the dessert menu. The same limited choices every day and most not to my taste. The ice cream and chocolate croissants are the best choices if you like chocolate.

Polo Grill

5 out of 5

The service was excellent as were the lamb chops and potatoes.

Red Ginger

Nice experience. Good food and service. A nice change of pace from traditional food.

Our favorite dinner on the cruise. Excellent food and service.

My husband was happy with his pork chop but mine was dry and tough. Service was excellent.

Onboard Activities

There aren’t a lot of options but we really didn’t take advantage of what was available so I can’t give a good evaluation.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The comedian was very funny as was the female pianist.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I can’t say enough about how great the staff is. Excellent service in every aspect.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin 8121. Concierge class. The most beautiful cabin of any ship we’ve been on. The only minor negative is that we are opposite a service door. We always bring a small fan with us to provide white noise so it doesn’t bother us but might for others. The housekeepers are fantastic.

Ship tip

Book shore excursions as soon as possible as well as special restaurants. Be aware that the average age of guests is 70 years and older with many who have physical issues.

We did the schooner sail. Lots of fun with nice people and weather.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

We loved the Highland Village tour. Outstanding! I would definitely recommend taking the excursion.

Montreal, Quebec

We did our own walking tour of Old Montreal. Others who did city bus tours were not pleased. We felt we saw the most scenic sights of the old section of Montréal.

Quebec City, Quebec

We hired a private tour guide to take us through the countryside and out to Montmorency Falls. We spent the afternoon in the old city on our own. Wonderful day!

Bar Harbor, Maine

Love the area. Didn’t take a tour as we have been there many times before.

Boston, Massachusetts

We went to the Aquarium on the complimentary shuttle to find out the aquarium was closed due to a private event. No fault of the ship and we did appreciate the free shuttle. We walked around and had pizza in Faneuil Hall.

SHELBURNE, NOVA SCOTIA

A wonderful surprise! Great exhibits and friendly people. Don’t miss it!

Saint John, New Brunswick

Not much to see other than the reversing falls.
