It can be windy! Leaving Galveston was very windy and leaving Cozumel was equally as windy. I was talking to one of the bartenders and he said that is it always super windy leaving Cozumel. Also, make dinner reservations if you want to go to the dining room...they can get very busy!

Don't expect to get the level of amenities, on board service, prepared food, and especially entertainment that you would normally get on a larger cruise ship. The Oasis seemed to think that as long as they provided SOMETHING that would be enough. They fell short in so many categories that are essential to any successful cruise I cannot begin to mention them all.

Be wary of people with sick kids and people who smoke. There were a lot of kids on board and many of them were sick. Also, a lot of smokers who smoked and vaped making breathing a bit difficult at times. Also, this ship was really listing and moving from side to side a lot, especially in the Aquarius restaurant where we ate most meals. Many people had a difficult time walking around and even staying in their seats.

Do not upgrade your drink packages on board. Stick with the one you have and buy it beforehand. On the last night of the cruise when they say to have your luggage out by 11 p.m. they mean it. I got ours out at 11:02 and there was not a bag in the Hall other than ours. The last night of the cruise in the Viking Lounge they played a game called quest and I would have loved to have seen more of that. Also if you are looking for a quiet place to get away and set on Deck it was either five or six down by where the employees enter, you get a Windbreak and it's extremely quiet.

Don't expect the same level of entertainment as you get on a larger class ship. Obviously a smaller ship will not have as much to do. On that note, this was a great ship for someone who has never cruised before. Also, the main thing about the cruise that sticks out in my mind is the air conditioning. I FROZE anytime I was at dinner or at a show. I will bring a blanket for shows and probably dress warmer for dinners.

Don't board the ship until the last minute. Once we got on the ship there was nothing to do and no where to go. Our staterooms weren't ready until 2:30 and there weren't enough seats in any of the common areas. I ended up having the kids sit on the floor by the stairs with our carry ons while we waited for hours. Also, if you don't want a drink package, prepare to be thirsty.

Just enjoy yourself there are so many activities to do also I learn that ship mate tells you exactly where things are located so you wont get lost.

Great four day cruise. For a longer cruise I would take a ship with a few more outdoor daytime water space like a water slide, bigger pool, wave maker. We didn't have small children so we were great with the space that was available

Take cash on the excursion to the Uxmal Ruins and be sure to stop at the restaurant. The food is awesome. We were told they accept credit cards, but they do not accept credit cards. We almost had to wash dishes..
