Viking Var overview
The innovative Viking Var is one of six new Longships by Viking River Cruises set to sail in 2012. With only 95 cabins and 190 passengers, this intimate 443-foot-long ship offers some exciting new features for river cruise ships including the Explorer Suites - two 445 square- foot suites that feature a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom, as well as a wrap-around veranda. The Aquavit Terrace, a new lounge with retractable floor-to-ceiling windows that can be opened on nice days, offers the perfect spot to relax while enjoying a glass of wine and catching up with friends. Aboard this sleek ship you will also find many environmentally friendly additions such as hybrid engines, solar panels, and an organic herb garden located on the sun deck.
