Viking did an excellent job of rescheduling many excursions due to uncooperative weather. Well done!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
High quality food and service in all dining areas of the ship.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
My husband used the spa facilities, ie the ice bucket, steam room and snow grotto. He loves this area.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Onboard musicians are excellent! Viking also brought local mucisians onboard at a couple of ports. These shows were wonderful!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waitstaff in all dining areas and cabin stewards were all very welcoming and nice. Superb service from all!

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin comfort, size and cleanliness were all great. We were in a forward cabin on 3rd floor, over the Star Theater, and the cabins aren’t soundproof. That being said, the shows were over by 10 pm, so not too bad.

Ship tip

Make sure you vary where you eat. Each food venue has its own specialty, so enjoy each area.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

Loved the city! We did the included excursion, but ventured out on our own later. The subway system is easy to negotiate, and the subway attendants were very helpful!

Toulon, France Did not visit port

This port was changed to Marseille. We did the included tour and used the provided shuttle to go into the Old Town. Very walkable!

Monte Carlo, Monaco

It was very rainy and windy the day we were here, but we ventured out on our own and did the included tour. Very easy to walk to Old Quarter.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
Loved this port! We did the Florence and Pisa excursion, so enjoyed the iconic Leaning Tower and the beautiful city of Florence. I knew before the cruise began that the Accademia Gallery (which houses The David) was closed every Monday, the day we were there, so I knew it wasn’t an option, but there is still so much more to see.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We did the optional tour of Highlights of Rome and The Colosseum. This is a very long day, with lots of walking, but saw everything we had always heard of except any Vatican areas. Very well worth our time and money, but very demanding, physically.

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Didn’t see any of Naples, as we did Pompeii and Sorrento. Would have liked this tour to include a little highlight of Naples, perhaps as we were leaving the port area on our way to Pompeii. If you do the included tour of Naples, there isn’t enough time to see anything else. Pompeii and Sorrento were amazing!

Corfu, Greece

Did the included tour. Quaint little town, but not much there. Toured the Old Fort during free time.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
Did the included tour here and enjoyed walking around the Old Town during free time. Was interested in walking the city walls, but it’s pricey and not enough time to go all the way around. So we got a cup of coffee at the harbor area and enjoyed the locals.

Split, Croatia

5 out of 5
Our visit here was cut short due to rough sea, so we only did the optional tour of the Krka National Park hike. We were anticipating a nasty day of rain and wind, but those natural elements contributed to more water than the park has seen in a long while. Therefore, the river and falls were tremendous! The rain slacked off during our hike, so we had enjoyable visit.

Venice, Italy

Again, the weather interfered with our plans here. The ship was not able to enter the port at the planned time, as the port authorities closed the port for a while. Once we docked, we lost about 3 hours of sightseeing. Viking adjusted and we were able to do the included tour. We were able to see St. Mark’s Square, but the cathedral had closed. We also walked a maze of streets to get to the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. The local signage is great, so even though it was a maze, we were easily able to find bridge and get back to shuttle boat area.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy and smooth. Viking assistants deliver luggage to the terminal and direct you to correct area for individual airlines.
