While in Boston, don't take the first tour in the morning. We were at Quincy Market around 9am but most places did not open till after 10:30am.

Not a ship for children or late night life. Excellant for seniors. No casino. Drink package is a great deal if you partake.

Make sure you go to the afternoon tea at 4:00 PM in the Wintergarden and try the scones. We didn't discover this until halfway through the cruise but then went every day.

Try all of the wonderful seating and drinking and conversational places on the ship early so you can pick your favorite. There are so many.

Bring some good reading or explore the dates books on board. You will have a lot of time to read or watch movies.

This cruise was 90 percent older guests (70yrs+). This isn't a problem in itself, but the entertainment was aimed squarely at that demographic and we (both 50yrs old) felt bored.

We have three couples who travel together and book adjacent staterooms. Viking policy doesnot allow the balcony connecting doors to be open while the ship is under way. This reduces the value of adjacent stateroms.

Don't overpack! I did and I wish I hadn't. There are laundrettes there that are complimentary. I wish I had taken advantage of this.
