Review summary
This was a "bucket list" cruise. I don't expect that folks who have not already traveled significantly would want to do the Amazon but we found it interesting. Brazil has not maintained the Portuguese history they were left. Failure of the natural rubber industry caused loss of significant wealth. Brazilian cities are dirty and crime infested. The West Indies islands were a big boost after Brazil. Some of the islands we visited were a bit off the beaten path and were beautiful. Overall, an interesting 22 days and a great finish on a 5 star cruise ship.Embarkation

Ship tip
We have three couples who travel together and book adjacent staterooms. Viking policy doesnot allow the balcony connecting doors to be open while the ship is under way. This reduces the value of adjacent stateroms.
