Review summary

This was a "bucket list" cruise. I don't expect that folks who have not already traveled significantly would want to do the Amazon but we found it interesting. Brazil has not maintained the Portuguese history they were left. Failure of the natural rubber industry caused loss of significant wealth. Brazilian cities are dirty and crime infested. The West Indies islands were a big boost after Brazil. Some of the islands we visited were a bit off the beaten path and were beautiful. Overall, an interesting 22 days and a great finish on a 5 star cruise ship.

5 Star food in every venue. The Italian restaurant was especially memorable.

Onboard Activities

Viking does not do rock-climbing and children stuff. Minimum age of 18. Pools were nice. Fitness center was first rate but they need more eliptical machines. Reading and card playing areas were excellent.

Entertainment

Excellent. All cast members including Cruise Director and Assistant Cruise Director were talented and performed well.

Great bathroom with glass walk in shower.

Ship tip

We have three couples who travel together and book adjacent staterooms. Viking policy doesnot allow the balcony connecting doors to be open while the ship is under way. This reduces the value of adjacent stateroms.
