This is where the Amazon River and the Tapajos River converge. Quite a sight to see the two rivers mixing together, as the Amazon is muddy (actually silty) and the Tapajos is not.

Lovely - we did a maiaca lake cruise and can highly recommend it. Saw a lot of wildlife including a black howler monkey, dolphins, sloth and osprey.

We arrived 3 hrs. late (due to the river's current?) and were tendered in so we missed our privately arranged tour due to lack of time. A big disappointment. Surely the current is a known factor in this day and age and should have been foreseen.

Nice stop but overall there is very little wildlife to see here. Just sloths and monkeys
