Review summary

It was never our intention to leave the ship. We have cruised the Caribbean with friends on a chartered catamaran. "Been there!"This was planned to be a truly relaxing vacation without the need to get up, get off and go on a tour. We had all we needed and more when everyone else was off exploring and we were'nt alone. There were several other very able bodied couples who did exactly as we did. Living in rain soaked OR, the sun and warmth was just what we required to refresh and replenish.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Transfer from airport, identification and documentation to stateroom where luggage awaited us was seamless

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We dined in all areas experiencing only the freshest of food from a variety of specialties and had access to finer wines and alcohol by the generous Silver drink package. Well worth it,

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pool areas are different and each is lovely with attentive staff who quickly learn your name and preferences. Team Trivia was competitive, spirited and all in good fun.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
A credit to all the talented performers aboard. Enjoyed al the shows.

Children's Programs

Not a kiddie cruise. We prefer to cruise with adults.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Robert, our steward was calling us by our names immediately after making our acquaintance. His attention to our room was exactly what I have come to expect from Viking. The Atrium bartender, Ben, was a “Marvelous Mixologist” and one who never forgot our names or drink preferences. Lots of new acquaintances made at that spot...a favorite from the Baltic cruise we took with Viking in 5/17

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Above expectations and maintained by a ghost-like staff who you hardly notice though all greet you pleasantly and with a smile.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was more than sufficient for us. The pillows and bed were comfortable and Robert, the steward, kept it immaculate. We were given ample towels and bed linens were clean and crisp.

Ship tip

Please be pleasant to the staff and other passengers. It never hurts to say please, thank you and hello.

Disembarkation

Luggage handling was terrific. Had a special spot to wait for our late flight (1538) as we had to be off ship by 0930. We went to the Sheraton for light food and beverage until time for appropriate bus transfer to the airport.
