Virgin is not for everyone, if the idea of a drag queen hosting a game show or a dance party bothers you you may think about that before you get on a cruise with Virgin they are very inclusive and a safe place for everyone to be themselves.

Bring magnetic hooks. There aren't many hooks in the stateroom.

Go between November - May, if you value space and (possibly) better service. The prices will (probably) be more expensive around that time, but it’s worth it. If you’ve done Virgin once, there is no use going again if they don’t change things up. On both of my sailings, I’ve encountered trash behavior from either overly drunk or uncultured guests who are not used to traveling. They bring their nasty attitudes from the trailer park, projects to the ship. I don’t even get into confrontations on Carnival. The Virgin crowd is more of my age group, and the offerings and vibe is more my style but some of the people it attracts are just weird. I do like the diversity, you have everything from cruise fanatics, first time cruisers, young, old, gay, and straight, etc. But that also brings the ghetto, trailer, bland, and soulless, more so than any other line (well kind of like Carnival and MSC 🤣). You don’t get the cruise community vibe like you do on NCL and other lines and they don’t cater well to solo cruisers (aside from offering solo cabins and daily meet ups that don’t offer much.)

Book early. When you first get on the ship, try to find your room. When you're leaving to go back home, use the elevators by the Wake.

Book your restaurant reservations right when you are able to. We booked one every night and it was great to try almost all of the restaurants on board.

Get to know the sommeliers onboard and ask them to stop by your table at dinner for customized wine recommendations. They are engaging, friendly, and are there to elevate the dining experience. Wines on board are very reasonably priced.

The cruise should never have left Miami due to bad weather, because of the bad decision to continue, it did not reach any port on the itinerary.

Prepare to enjoy the experience and don't compare it at all to any other cruise line!

Try all of the restaurants!!! And use the app to get food delivered to wherever you are. They bring it in a zippered bag to keep it warm/cold and not on a traditional tray like most hotels and cruise lines.
