Q: Has anyone gotten a tattoo at Squid Ink on Valiant? I have two from the studio on Scarlet and was wondering what your experience was like. The Artists on Scarlet are Top Notch so hope that Valiant’s Artists can hang!! Can’t wait for our next voyage in November!

A: I haven’t gotten one but I’ve read it gets booked fast for the end of the voyage. People want to get tattoos at the end as to not damage the tattoo/have it get infected from sun and sweat.

Q: I’m confused about The Galley. It seems like there are certain stations where you would get the food yourself, like salad bars and dessert items. But otherwise, you order from a server at your table. Is it obvious which is which? Also, is it tacky to order a soda at one of the upscale restaurants?

A: There didn't seem to be a hard and fast rule. If you went to the counter, they would serve you and they also served you at the tables. There is a menu for the galley you can find online, but they had other stations such as a chopped salad and a bre... ad/dessert station. If you just went by the menu, you will miss out.See More

A: There are two smoking areas, one outside on deck 16, on the opposite side to the sun club cafe, near Richard’s Rooftop and the fore stairs. The other is indoors between the casino and the Red Room.

A: I believe there are only two small smoking areas. You might look on you tube. I think that’s where I saw something about that.

Q: Several comments about Virgin cruises being different’ that other cruise lines. How so?

A: They serve you in all of the food areas. The cafeteria area is set up as mini food venues but you sit and order off of one menu and your food is brought to you. The downside is that it is hard to find seating and when you do, you are likely sitting o... ne foot away from other diners. The other dining rooms for dinner are similar on seating. Most likely you are discussing dinner and getting to know the people next to you because it is like everyone is at the same table in many instances. They have a tattoo parlor on board. They have small entertainment venues. They cater to alternative and individualistic lifestyles and the ship has an adult-only atmosphere (of course they do not allow children). This is just a small picture of my recent cruise but my overall take is that variety is the spice of life and I was glad I tried Virgin at least once!See More

A: Yes. However it’s a European plug and the only European outlet is at the desk in the cabin.
