Great Cruiseline, but Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas cabins are loud (creaky from the wind).

The cabin layout was great - oceanfront balcony. Bed was closest to the balcony. The balcony is angled so one side is actually bigger (this is a good thing). Bed was very hard - even with a topper. I should have done what my son did and ask for 3-4 toppers to make it soft! My only complaint with this cabin (and from the chatter in the elevator - it was several cabins) is how creaky they are! Granted it was windy, but I was on the Harmony in similar conditions and those cabins made no noise at all. The creakiness was so bad I didn’t sleep for the first couple days. I finally thought to put ear plugs in and I could still hear it through them - though it was marginally better. It really did take away from my enjoyment of this cruise. This sleep-deprivation was such a big deal for me that I switched my 2023 cruise from the Symphony to the Harmony. Don’t get me wrong, I love Royal Caribbean and will remain loyal. I’m just not a fan of the Symphony.

Ship tip

Bring ear plugs!!!!

Really nothing to do at this port. It was boring - unless you want to shop for tshirts and jewellery.

Gorgeous island with lots to do!

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Beautiful island with lots to do! Gorgeous beaches, great wave pool, cute shops (though they’re all the same).

Fortunately I didn’t have that problem on my sailing.

We loved Puerto Rico.

On submarines those sounds were referred to as transients and were used to identify potential targets.😂 (USNCV66 😉) Don't know if you had an ocean balcony or not but on some older ships the plexi panels can get loose and rattle in the wind. Maintenance can tighten them up to dampen most of that. Whatever the case, I much prefer the ocean noises on a cruise over a neighbor's dog barking or traffic. Thanks for the review!

Any ship will creek in certain locations in rough seas and heavy winds.... well, except US combat ships.... Just the nature of the beast with cruise ships in how they are built.... pretty fasade interior over a steel ship that flexes in heavy seas and wind.

Sorry the cabin wasn’t the best for you. On a happier note, adorable pup in your picture 😊
