Review summary

We had a fantastic trip and can’t wait to go again. Even though some venues were closed, we didn’t let it affect our time on the ship.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
My father needed wheelchair assistance and they were very helpful. We went through the same entrance as the suites level. The whole process took less than 15 minutes. Find your muster station as soon as you board. Very easy and pleasant process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had fantastic wait staff. Many shows were scheduled for 7 pm, we had 5:30 dining, they worked very hard to feed us and have plenty of time to get to the theater for the show. My only negative would be that the solarium bistro was closed the entire trip, due to capacity. The ship was at 60% capacity. Only a few times we had a long wait for the windjammer.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We participated in flow rider, morning trivia, sudoku challenges, origami, abyss, mini golf, zip line, merry go round, card room, shuffle board, hot tubs, water slide. We had flow rider to ourselves the morning at st Thomas. No lines on day one for many activities. Ship has so many options that we didn’t even get to everything. We wanted to do the escape room and by the time we went to book it, the evening of the first night, they were all full! Book that as soon as you get on the ship if you want to participate. We found that if you got to a venue at least 10 minutes before, there was plenty of seating.

Entertainment

Book your shows as soon as you get on board. If you have other cabins connected to your booking, they will all show up on your app and you can schedule for everyone. Hairspray was cancelled for the cruise, not sure why. They brought on a really fun ventriloquist for the show instead. 1977 ice skate show is cool, but weird, but we still enjoyed it. We had hiro planned for day 3. Day 1,3, and 5 shows were cancelled. We were rescheduled for day 7. That is a must see. Iskate 2.0 was fantastic. Flight was okay. Great musicians around the ship. Enjoyed a guitar player in Central Park at night. Get to shows about 15 min and no problem with seats, except Hiro, get there 30 min before.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had very high winds and waves the first few nights. Bring earplugs because the wind can be loud from the sliding door and the creaking from the boat. My parents were in 8584, they had a service door to vintages wine bar directly across from them and it always made knocking sounds. Cabin steward was very helpful and always did a great job cleaning room.

Ship tip

I wish chat feature was included in the app. It is $2 per day per guest. We brought a magnetic white board from the dollar store and wrote where we were at instead.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
We walked to San cristobal fort. It was about a 15 min walk. We arrived at the port around 1:30 pm. By the time we got to the fort it was 2:30. The close at 4:30. Go directly there if you want to see that. My teenage kids loved it. Went and saw forteleza street down by the governor’s house. Very fun with butterflies strung across it. We fed the pigeons just south of there and my kids loved it.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
We loved labadee! We went Nellie’s beach and floated in the water for hours. My only negative would be the food. Even my kids didn’t like it. The coconut macaroon cookies were good though. The nellie’s side of the island has hardly any wind. The other side by the zip line was very windy.

Miami, Florida

Roads are super confusing even with gps. We went to an Everglades boat tour when we got back. That was fun. It was about a 45 min drive away.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Bring your own snorkel gear. Lots of fun places to snorkel at the 2nd bay at chill island. Food was good.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

To be fair, we only got off the ship to see the port shops. We spent the day on the ship and had almost everything to ourselves.
