Magnificent Mediterranean cruise! by gdaxland

It was a very hot week but in spite of it we had a fabulous time. The cabin for 3 was spacious with lots of closet & drawer space, & no bunk beds. The food was extraordinary with lots of options. We were given the tour of the executive kitchen on one of the 3 kitchen floors which was very interesting to see the inner workings of such a massive ship. The bartenders mixed some great drinks which were priced higher than on our previous cruise on the Serenade of the Seas. Entertainment & land excursions were well organized for so many people. We highly recommend Royal Caribbean & have booked our next adventure above the Arctic Circle!

Amazing Time Sailing the Mediterranean by outdoortim

Simply wonderful. We enjoyed all of our excursions, the entertainment on the ship, and time together as a family. Our favorite spot on the boat was the solarium, where we enjoyed the hot tub and pool for adults only. We also loved the jazz club and really enjoyed the 80s party that was thrown one night. The food was excellent, and the drink package worked out well for our family. Overall we had a really wonderful trip and I would definitely recommend royal Caribbean cruises to friends and family.

Wonderful Mediterranean Cruise by wkeith570

This was a great vacation. Overall the ports of calls were great. However I think an extra day at sea is needed to allow cruisers to rest and enjoy the ship. There were areas on the ship I did not get to see because we went out to see the different cities.

Wanted to acknowledge the wonderful help and guidance from Palma Gioeli. She was wonderful to work with and provided great assistance and follow up to make sure everything was covered, especially the discounts and such. Always concerned so our trip would be a success. Thanks Palma.

The ship is brand new, beautiful and clean . The staff is always willing to help. There are minimal lines for food or drinks. The shows are wonderful, do not miss them. I love the silent parties, they are hilarious. I love the suites on deck 17 and the coastal kitchen.

Ship was beautiful but will explore other cruise lines before booking with Royal again. by jmm2266

Would've liked to know that there was no laundry room but a service instead. Drinks were too expensive. Some complimentary water would have been nice. Did not know about the added gratuities. Other cruise lines do not do that. Buffet was dominated by Indian food. Sit down dinner food not great. My credit that was offered to me by Royal because of an obstructed view did not show up & I had to go ask for it. Non-smoking side of the casino is excellent.

Overall good experience, but I have concerns about the main kitchen. by chrisfa

Overall it was a fun trip. We had issues with a hair in the food, and at least one case of food born illness from the main dining room.

Disappointing by richdonna

We were very disappointed in this cruise. Its is a brand new ship and we paid a ton of money for this trip. I found the other ships a better value. Everything is an upcharge, the menu in the dining room was awful. The drinks were terrible but the staff was excellent ! We had some of the nicest people for crew members that I think we have ever had. They also took away a lot of perks that we use to get and we don't get as many benefits for booking suites as we did in the past. I would research other cruise lines before booking with Royal Caribbean.

First time cruising and it... by siobh

Sail Date: /

First time cruising and it was a great experience. The only downsides were that my partner and myself are wheelchair users and found the carpets very hard to push on. Also the restaurants were busy but staff always found us a suitable table.

It’s an amazing ship but... by Alexheller

Sail Date: /

It’s an amazing ship but extremely busy compared to allure and oasis and they have added more cabins and is very in organised. No where to eat if hungry at night as promenade cafe always runs out of food and windjammer is closed at 9. Room had a dirty tissue when we entered. Food is amazing and highly recommend chops grill and Izumi hibachi. 150 Central Park was a bit of a disappointment but overall amazing food even in the windjammer. Watching the World Cup was amazing in the aqua theatre and the royal theatre. Royal promenade is a mad house at night and can hardly move around and there are not as many activities as you would think. Would recommend going in Caribbean as crowd is better and would also recommend going on allure or oasis as it has less people and seems more organised. Ports are nothing special. THEY CHARGE FOR EVERYTHING. They even charge for popcorn and cocktails are very expensive as they are around $12 each after tax and if your a big drinker I highly recommend the drinks package as all drinks are way more expensive than on other cruise lines. They don’t even include bath robes or chocolates on pillows. We never ate in the same restaurant twice it was amazing. Over all if it was more organise and wasn’t as expensive on board it would have been amazing but the little things let it down. Would only recommend ships with less people. The size was perfect

Staying in an Aqua theater... by mkonopi1

Sail Date: /

Staying in an Aqua theater Suite on Symphony of the Seas while it cruises the Mediterranean will be hard to beat! After sailing on many Royal Caribbean ships over the past 25 years, the ships just keep getting better and better. Plus, dining in the Coastal Kitchen brings the service and food back to the good old days when I first started cruising in the early 90’s. I highly recommend paying the extra money for the perks of Sky or Star Class since it made our cruise experience stand out as excellent all around!

Wonderful cruise in a wonderful ship by luzes

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple

We had wonderful experiences on this cruise! The ship was wonderful and all the places we visited were amazing. We didn’t like our city view excursion in Palma de Mallorca (nice places but always with the intention of taking us to places to buy souvenirs, jewels, etc). We should have chosen another one. But all the other excursions were amazing! And the ship specialties restaurants are wonderful! We loved it al!!!

Not a ship - its a floating resort! by cruisellama

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple

Symphony is a great floating resort (more than a cruise ship)! Beautifully designed and constructed ship, but the overall experience is becoming less "inclusive". Lots of add-ons required to buy-into inclusiveness. We cruise for an "all inclusive" experience. RCL is inching to more al la carte experience, which is what you can get on a "land" vacation. The day is past where there is exquisite cuisine and service in the main dining room, the better meals and service are in the specialty restaurants. And even those have common presentations that are on parity with on-shore restaurants. If the experience offered an "all inclusive" high end experience - then I would rate a 10. We've booked Jr. Suites (now Sea Class) on our 3 cruises, but the perks that go with that level are very low when comparing to Celebrity or your competition. Sea Class isn't considered a full suite, so Country Kitchen is restricted to dinner (and you have to knock on the door for access), Although authorized dinner reservations, you can't get in the door without meekly knocking. As the doors are all electronically controlled, access could be enabled during authorized dining periods. Carousel was broken for the entire cruise. Some hand washing stations were inoperable in Windjammer and Solarium Bistro. Food is average except for the special restaurants. Service definitely better in specialty restaurants.
