Review summary

Enjoyed the services and the casino. Balcony room was "not" on ocean but in the garden, inside ship. Wife enjoyed Spa services and thermal suite. Solarium pool/spas fit for maybe 120 people vs. 6000 passengers on board (Probably around 3500 seniors). Ship set up for children, not seniors.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Took great care of us through the Key services

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Lobster was great. Most other food good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Plenty to do. We were physically limited, so pickle ball lessons were fun

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Hiro show was excellent

Children's Programs

Not Kids on cruise with us

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Services were good, but response times not so good. Too many people on ship and ship not set up to handle big lines.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was kept clean at all times

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Small cabin, clean, but we paid for and expected, an ocean view balcony. Instead we received a garden view balcony under the children's pool and loud crowd and music noise from center of ship. If your room designation has a "G" on it, beware!

Ship tip

Don't expect much from the Solarium. No room, small pool, and crowded full.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

After 2 cruises including them: Prefer to stay on ship. Do not like either location. Vagrants, hawkers, and rude people.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Key services, luggage was off ship on time, breakfast was great, exited to waiting cab. No problems getting to the Airport.

Did you do a you pick or they pick your room? I have sailed Royal many times. They don’t cater to kids, that is Carnival. I feel they cater to the middle age group. But there are many “older” people too. I’m sure there are cruise lines that specifically cater to “older”, whatever age is meant by that.

G on reservation may mean Guaranty. Meaning you are guaranteed a balcony but anywhere on ship.

Can you please explain how you paid for an Oceanview balcony and received a neighborhood balcony?

Bummer about your balcony cabin. Not good with all those kids. Still, you had a nice time.
