I liked the food and the shows, both the comedian, Carlos, and the Princess singers and dancers, all of which were excellent and better than other cruise lines.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

All of the staff on the ship and in booking the cruise were very helpful and pleasant. The activities on the ship were pretty much anything you want to do or hear was there, so no way could you ever say there is nothing to do. A Big Thanks

Overall a good trip by hsirt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

I felt the food was not that good. It was the same almost every single day especially breakfast. The water tasted really bad. My husband thinks it was because the ice machine wasn't clean.

Our room steward didn't clean very good.

The islands were great. The entertainment was pretty good.

I've been on Princess cruises before and really liked them, but disappointed with this one.

Nice long cruise. by idyltimelg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

This was a long time at sea, essentially 9 days to see four ports, plus 4 hours in Ensenada, Mexico. It would have been better to have an extra day in Hawaii, and bypass Ensenada, which is not particularly scenic (tongue in cheek), but apparently the ship needs to stop in a foreign port for either registry or tax purposes.  The food on the Star Princess was OK, but not up to the standards of other cruise lines we have used.  The ship, itself, was nice, but confusing floor plan.  Be aware that balcony room and mini-suites on lower decks are not covered.

The staff on the Star Princess was outstanding.  They were the most welcoming and cheerful staff we have yet experienced.

MOST ENJOYABLE CRUISE by carl314

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

This cruise was one  of the most enjoyable I've experienced. I have cruised on this Princess line and many other ones  and feel qualifies to render my opinion.

The cruise personnel had much to  do with my favorable experience and I'd like to give credit for that to the following people who saw to my pleasure:

                                          Reynaldo...room attendant  for P226

                                          Joel Ramos...waiter

                                          Hernan Torres...assistant waiter

                                          Richard....Amalfi dining room, tea time

                                           Amy.....casino ( brand new)

In addition, the cheerful attitude of the personnel in the 24hour International cafe as well as the buffet.

In general, these people contributed to the happiness and satisfaction of this  lovely Hawaiian cruise, which in itself ,was a pleasure, from start to finish. if one is looking for a relaxing, thoroughly enjoyable experience, then this is it!

A rare opportunity to cruise the Sea of Cortez by sandraar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Mexico

My husband and I selected this cruise because of the itinerary and the opportunity to have six relaxing days at sea. The Star Princess and her crew did not disappoint. For those of us still in the working world, there is nothing better than enjoying ocean breezes, sunrises and sunsets and myriad options to engage or disengage during sea days. And, once we rounded the Baja peninsula our adventures began. We are huge fans of visiting World Heritage Sites and this cruise offers several to choose from in Cabo San Lucas, La Paz and Loreto. The shore excursions were excellent and I heard no complaints from other passengers on the ship. The phrase I kept hearing was how much this cruise exceeded passengers' expectations. The Baja Peninsula is drop-dead gorgeous and the water temperature of 80 degrees is perfect in October for those of us who went snorkeling at every opportunity.

The crew was young and vibrant and there was more to do do than we had time for. My only suggestion would be to opt for the "any time" dining. We selected the late seating and found it conflicted with many activities we wanted to participate in on the ship. Go and enjoy. We will definitely be taking this same cruise again.

Mexican Cruise by tostdy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Mexico

My wife and I had a very nice, relaxing cruise, leaving out of San Francisco and returning to the same port.  Great for us since we live nearby.  Our balcony room was great, cabin attendant Carlos, was excellent in looking after us and our room.  Our room was on deck 12 near the rear of the ship, nice location since just out the back door was an adult pool and just a few steps for us.  I had broken my ankle some months back so great therapy to have a nice pool to swim in.  We were one floor below the buffet, and just a few steps from the ships laundry.  All in all had a great time and Angela, from was super in arranging and confirming our trip was in order prior to us leaving. Really appreciated her efforts, helped us obtain and verified a military room credit, it was nice working with her.

Mexican Escape Oct 1, 2014 out of San Francisco by Lion2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Mexico

We loved our getaway and come back new cruise.  We had very smooth sailing and the weather was beautiful.  We were very comfortable and had many great meals.  For us it seemed like our lives had  become a movie of our dreams and we were so so delighted!  It was quite affordable as well.  I would do it again.  Why? The very nature of the 2by2 or double occupied  cabins will put you and your roommate in a shared fun vacation. Lots of long walks and the ocean in all its many dispositions day or night. Meet new friends and staying on a beautiful ship for 10 days was so different from everyday life.  They look after you so well I think most people will love it.  And even though it is a rich and wonderful experience it still feels great to get home.  We did the walk off  and took the Bart  home.

Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

wow a great crusie.....boarded in sfca on time and without any problems whatsoever. went directly to our stateroom and left our carry on luggage and headed to the buffet. they were ready with all kinds of food.

luggage arrived safe and all together. stateroom was super nice and the attendant was superior. couldn't have asked for any better. dining room (traditional dining) was also great. our server and assistant server went out of their way to make our dining experience super. the overall ships condition was the best. everyone was super nice, friendly and helpful. shows were also superior for a curise line ship. lots of activities on the days at sea. kept busy all the time. of course you could just relax if you wanted to.

have another cruise scheduled in november 2014 out of houston, tx.

Alaska Cruise on Star Princess by shamrocks1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall I would rate this cruise as being superior to other cruise lines i have taken over the years. The food was very good and plenty of it. The staff were very helpful and respectful at all times. I found the cabin to have excellent layout with very efficient use of space.  A large closit with plenty of hangers was wonderful and nothing had to be left laying on the bed. In addition, the closet area had a nice rack of storage pockets with plenty of room for all the sweater and little things etc. The bathroom was also well laid out and a cut avove the competition.

My only complaint was the very poor value for the Buschard Gadens shore excursion. The bus left for the Gardens 20 mins. late and after reaching the gardens we were told by the driver we had less than two hours to get back on the bus. I don't know what all the rush to get back to the ship was about, but we arrived back on the dock with 2 1/2 hours left befor sailing. My family spent almost $400 on this tour, only to have our day ruined by trying to run around the gardens, but sadly, we did not see much in the short time we were alloted. As a veteran of over 30 cruises, I have seen it all and would definately reccomend this cruise to anyone.

Princess inept transfer service caused miising sailing by harryjmetropol

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

After Star Princess left without us aboard at LA on March 5, 2014 due to their Transfer representative errors, We flew to Hilo , Hawaii to catch Star Princess  at Hilo on March 10,2014.  Once aboard the ship it was fine but we are still waiting to be reimbursed for the flight to Hawaii to catch up the ship. When they picked us up at the LAX airport the driver of the Taxi that Princess representative picked did not know how to get to the pier. The taxi got lost causing us to miss the sailing. If we had been able to pick our own shuttle we would have gotten to the pier in ample time before saling.

First cruise by tochi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

This is our first cruise and we enjoyed it.  The food, enterrtainment and service are fantastic.  All the crew and staffs are honest, courteous and works very hard to keep us comfortable.  The stateroom is always clean.  Our waiter and assistant waiter always welcome us at night with a smile and impecable service.  All the crew on the Horizon lounge for breakfast and lunch are all working hard for all of us.  The food is terrific.  The executive chef and the cooks spend a lot of time to make sure the food is delicious and clean.  We will miss the ship and all its crew.

Retirement Cruise by CaddieUSA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

What a wonderful start to my retirement.  Rest, relaxation, entertainment, great food, and lots of fun. Our cabin D410 was spacious and comfortable with a balcony.  More closet space and drawers than any cruise I have been on.
